On May 21, 2025, a seminar was held to help students understand data structures in a simple way. Mr. Hasan Raad, a guest speaker , explained the topic using real-world examples. He compared data structures to everyday things, like boxes and lists, to make the ideas easier to understand. The session helped students see how data is stored and used in programming. It was a fun and easy way to learn an important computer science topic.

Cyber Security

Description:
On April 22, 2025, an educational session was organized by the Tech Club for 69 students to learn about SQL injection and XSS attacks. YouBee Company led the session, explaining how these attacks work and how to prevent them. Real-life examples and simple solutions were shared. Students were taught key practices for writing secure code. The event promoted awareness of common web security risks.

On April 8, 2025, an event was held by the LIU Tech Hub Club at the Rayak campus, focusing on cyber security. Dr. Ali Rida Al Massri, a guest expert, delivered a talk and a live demonstration on mobile hacking using a Trojan. He explained how such malware can secretly access data on smartphones. The session aimed to raise awareness about mobile threats, and students learned how to protect their devices from such attacks.

Cyber Security Workshop

Description: On May 15, 2024, LIU University - Rayak Campus Tech Hub Club had the honor of hosting a distinguished workshop on cybersecurity, led by Dr. Ali Al-Massri. The event was attended by a dedicated assembly of 69 students from the Computer Science, Information Technology, and Computer Engineering departments in addition to the CSCI/CSIT campus coordinator Dr. Garo Pilawjian and CSIT Dept. colleague Dr. Abed Al Hussein Al Masri. Dr. Ali Al-Massri imparted valuable knowledge on the fundamentals of cybersecurity, complemented by a practical demonstration on Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) via solving 5 real exercises. This educational session provided the students with a profound understanding of cybersecurity measures and practices, equipping them with essential skills for their future endeavors in the field.

LIU University is thrilled to declare the successful completion of a riveting programming contest at our Rayak campus, held on May 10, 2024.The competition spanned a dynamic three hours and was organized across two levels: Introductory and Intermediate. The Introductory level saw the participation of 6 teams, while the Intermediate level was contested by 8 teams, bringing together an overall 40 students from our Rayak campus.

The event was ingeniously structured to cater to varying levels of coding proficiency, offering a broad platform for all contenders. We extend our deepest gratitude to every participant for their passionate involvement and commendable performances. The contest not only highlighted the participants' prowess in programming but also cultivated an environment of knowledge-sharing and collegiality.

In acknowledgment of their dedication, Dr. Garo Pilawjian , the CSCI/CSIT Coordinator, and Dr. Hassan Al Said ,the Assistant Dean of SOAS, bestowed certificates upon all contestants, with the victors receiving additional prizes. Congratulations to all.

We had the privilege of hosting a seminar conducted by Mr. Ali Mazloum, the CEO/Founder of Atwaaj Company (KSA, Oman) and founder of Orient Tech Solutions (Lebanon, USA), on our campus. This event, organized at the initiative of Dr. Garo Pilawjian and in coordination with the Programming & Robotics Clubs , provided our campus community with invaluable insights into software advancements, new programming languages, and innovative tools.

We were thrilled to host Mr. Rami Zbeidy, a distinguished Sr. Cloud Architect at Amazon, on our campus(Rayak) for an enlightening seminar session.
