Mohamad Najdi, Project Leader Engineer at Sydvatten AB – Sweden , Class of 2021:
“I currently work as a Project Leader at Sydvatten AB, one of largest public drinking water utilities in southern Sweden, where I lead large-scale infrastructure and construction projects that contribute to securing a safe and reliable drinking water supply for nearly one million people.
My role involves managing complex projects from the early design and planning stages through construction and final delivery. I coordinate engineers, consultants, contractors, and other technical stakeholders, while taking responsibility for schedules, budgets, quality requirements, risk management, and technical decisions throughout each phase. Working within critical public infrastructure also means ensuring that every project meets demanding standards of safety, reliability, and long-term performance.
Phoenicia University provided me with the technical foundation, engineering skills, and problem-solving mindset that prepared me to take on this level of responsibility and continue developing as a leader in critical public infrastructure.
The project-based and collaborative nature of my studies at Phoenicia University taught me to approach engineering challenges systematically, work across different areas of expertise, and translate technical knowledge into practical solutions. These are skills I now rely on when coordinating multidisciplinary teams and taking complex infrastructure projects from planning through ex*****on.
Looking back, my education at Phoenicia University did more than prepare me for my first engineering role. It gave me the knowledge, discipline, and professional skills to grow into a leadership position where the projects I lead have a direct impact on essential public infrastructure—and ultimately on the communities that depend on it.”
