We are very excited to annouce that Elisabetta Carnevale will be joining us for a lecture discussing her amazing research!

Elisabetta Carnevale

Architect Elisabetta Carnevale holds a postgraduate degree in Earthen Architecture from CRAterre - ENSA Grenoble, achieved in 2016 with the thesis “Terres Contemporaines. Contemporary earthen architecture in France from 1976 to 2015: why and how”.
She’s been researching about the poured earth technique and its possibilities for design at Amàco research centre (Lyon). She founded her architecture practice in Barcelona in 2018, exploring contemporary possibilities for earth and other sustainable materials.

The GSS19 Becoming is a two-week summer educational program organized by IAAC > Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia.
It brings together experts from around the world to discuss the future of urbanism and the impact of technology on spaces exploration through a series of workshops, global lectures, presentations and a final ceremony.

This intensive experience connects each participant to ongoing research agendas in robotics, simulation, physical computing, parametric design, digital fabrication, and other relevant emerging design methodologies. Specific emphasis is placed on multi-scalar investigation on emergent techniques implications in our planned environments. Because of this, participants have an international laboratory to test their design hypothesis, understanding how locally derived design conclusions, can be globally spread.
