LAL - Lebanese Alternative Learning

A look inside one of our Alternative Learning Spaces at Aamchit Public School.

We created this space to support collaborative, creative, and interactive learning, giving students from Cycles 2 and 3 a flexible environment where they can engage with lessons in new and dynamic ways.

This initiative is implemented in partnership with Education Above All (EAA) to strengthen access to innovative learning environments in Lebanon.

At Al Baraa School in Akkar, learning started with something simple but powerful: play.

As part of the Let Kids Be Kids initiative, the LAL team introduced teachers to activities from the IFERB toolkit, which includes 100 offline games and exercises designed to support socio-emotional learning, teamwork, and student well-being.

Through these playful activities, teachers discovered new ways to help students stay engaged, focused, and ready to learn.

Meaningful education starts with people.
Our founder, Dr. Nayla Zreik Fahed, took part in the K-12 Education in Lebanon: Challenges and Opportunities Forum, organized by Ahliah School and AUB, under the auspices of the Minister of Education and Higher Education.
On the panel “The Evolving Role of Technology in Education,” she shared how Lebanese Alternative Learning designs digital learning that is inclusive, low-tech, and human-centered built for real contexts, real constraints, and real learners.
Technology is a tool.
People are the foundation.
