The Munib and Angela Masri Institute of Energy and Natural Resources at the American University of Beirut (AUB) was established in June 2007 through a generous endowment pledge of $5 million by AUB Trustee Munib Masri of the Munib R. The Institute is conceived as a framework that will galvanize and support energy research at AUB by providing opportunities for the faculty to: Engage in collaborativ

e interdisciplinary research; integrate resources in order to achieve higher research quality and attract public and private regional and international partnerships and funding. The Munib and Angela Masri Institute of Energy and Natural Resources is a locus for faculty cooperation in energy research across the AUB disciplines in science, technology, social science, management and business. Fostering interdisciplinarity under the umbrella of the institute helps the University advance solutions and engage in energy related research that serves the needs of Lebanon and the region towards a sustainable and economically viable future.
