We were honored to welcome Her Excellency, Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Rima Karami, to Ahliah School. During her visit, H.E Dr. Rima, met with our Grade 12 Lebanese students, listened to their questions and concerns, and engaged in an open discussion about the official exams, the curriculum and the on-going situation in Lebanon.

Ahliah School is proud to be the first private school Her Excellency visited following her tour of public schools, an important milestone that highlights our commitment to academic excellence and student voice in Lebanon.

🌟 Alumni Spotlight | Oudey Hamadeh

A proud Ahliah alumnus (Class of 2012), Oudey Hamadeh’s journey reflects leadership, innovation, and service.

He represented Lebanon internationally through the Injaz & Intel Sci-preneurship Program (2013), earning first place, and co-developed “Re-H2O”, a low-cost solution addressing water scarcity.

His commitment to service is reflected through the Lebanese Red Cross — from Head of Station in the Youth Sector (2012–2015), to EMS volunteer (2015–present), to leading Beirut’s station (2021–2023), overseeing 100+ volunteers and responding to major emergencies.

A graduate of LAU, he now serves as a Senior Regional Talent Acquisition Manager at MCN, leading recruitment across multiple countries in the GCC.

In these difficult days, as many in our community face war, displacement, and uncertainty, we are reminded of the extraordinary strength of women.

This week, as we mark both International Women’s Day and Teacher’s Day, we reflect on the role of educators and women who continue to guide and inspire, even in the most challenging times.

More than seventy years ago, Helen Keller visited Ahliah School and addressed its students in Dar Al-Ijtima‘a. Invited during the leadership of the visionary educator Wadad Makdisi Cortas, she shared a message of perseverance, courage, and hope.

Helen Keller’s life was a powerful reminder that obstacles do not define us, resilience and determination do.

Today, her visit feels more meaningful than ever. In times of uncertainty, teachers remain a source of stability, inspiration, and strength for generations of students.

At Ahliah, this legacy continues carried by the educators and women who shape minds, nurture resilience, and remind us that even in the hardest moments, hope and knowledge endure.
