Erasmus Teaching Mobility at the University of Bucharest
As part of its international academic partnerships, the Faculty of Religious Studies at Saint Joseph University of Beirut was represented by Dr. Marguerite El Asmar during an Erasmus teaching mobility at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Bucharest.
During this mobility, Dr. El Asmar contributed to Prof. Paul Sandu’s master’s course on Phenomenology and Ontology of European Culture, engaging in rich intellectual exchanges with graduate students and faculty members. The visit provided an opportunity to strengthen academic dialogue around philosophy, culture, and the study of religious phenomena.
The mission also included institutional meetings with prominent academic figures, including Prof. Mircea Dumitru, Vice-President of the Romanian Academy and former Rector of the University of Bucharest, and Prof. Viorel Vizureanu, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy. These encounters fostered discussions on future cooperation in research, teaching, and academic mobility.
Additional exchanges took place with Dr. Lilian Ciachir, Coordinator of the UNESCO Chair, and representatives of the University’s Rectorate, further consolidating institutional ties between the two universities.
This mobility reflects the Faculty’s commitment to internationalization, academic collaboration, and the development of transnational research networks. It also opens the way for future joint initiatives between Saint Joseph University of Beirut and the University of Bucharest.
