How the World Will Look After the Coronavirus Pandemic 22/03/2020

Like the fall of the Berlin Wall or the collapse of Lehman Brothers, the coronavirus pandemic is a world-shattering event whose far-ranging consequences we can only begin to imagine today. This much is certain: Just as this disease has shattered lives, disrupted markets and exposed the competence (or lack thereof) of governments, it will lead to permanent shifts in political and economic power in ways that will become apparent only later.

How the World Will Look After the Coronavirus Pandemic The pandemic will change the world forever. We asked 12 leading global thinkers for their predictions.

Our response to AUB administration for resuming classes tomorrow.

Dear PSPA Chair and Faculty Members,

It is with great regret that we learn about resuming classes tomorrow. We interpret this as a clear attempt to call us back from the streets into classrooms.

We would like to inform you that we have taken a collective decision (among the signatories are our allies from the international student body) not to attend any class, unless this class is within the demonstrations on the streets.

We understand that AUB wants to resume classes and this is a centralized decision that you need to abide by, but we hope that you too can understand our position and attempts to deconstruct the current brutal regime.

Furthermore, we stand by the call for a strike by a group of AUB staff and faculty and reiterate their core ideology that "any return to normalcy is a counter political act". This is not simply a protest, this is a revolution- and we cannot "return to normalcy" until all demands are met.

In Solidarity,

A group of PSPA and PPIA Students

PPIA Society has been launched !✌️☺️
16 new students from different backgrounds and nationalities joined the PPIA graduate program this fall. PPIA faculty members, as well as continuing students, were pleased to welcome them today and to invite them to actively participate in the program's dynamics and the foundation of the PPIA society. We all look forward to bringing more diversity and opportunities to the PPIA program and to the AUB Community as a whole.
