Beth Aleph School Project

Beth Aleph School Project It is financed in collaboration of 3 partners: Social Office of the Lazaristes Fathers, Caritas Lebanon and Caritas Austria. Children are from 3-6 years old.

Beth Aleph is a free kindergarten school project for the migrant's children who find difficulty to attend schools in Lebanon due to their social and financial status. Beth Aleph is a kindergarten school project for the migrants, founded in October 2010 by the “Social Office of the Lazaristes Fathers ” and is Administered by the founder Father Ziad Haddad. Today Beth Aleph accommodates 130 student

s from 15 different nationalities who live in Beirut and the Suburbs: migrating from the Middle East, Africa and Asia: Sudan, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Cameron, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Nepal, India, Congo, Syria & Bangladesh. They are taught the English and Arabic language in addition to mathematics, science, social studies and sports. The project has 4 classes for nursery, 2 classes for KG 1, and 2 for KG2. In addition to the free education, Beth Aleph also provides psychosocial, legal, medical support, including free transportation, school and sport uniform, books & materials and daily hot lunch. Beth Aleph emphasizes also on educational and entertaining activities both internal and extracurricular activities to facilitate smooth integration in the Lebanese community. It offers fundamental assistance that contribute to a child's growth and his/her right to education. “Beth Aleph” is located in the heart of Beirut, Achrafieh Sassine, in the convent of the Lazaristes Fathers. It consists of 3 floor building that include the migrant Department of Caritas Lebanon, in addition to the project in which there are 8 classes, open playground, infirmary, and dining room.

On June 8th, we enjoyed fabulous performance by the children for the end of the academic year. Thank you “Seenaryo” for preparing and helping children express their feelings through art, creativity and play.
Volunteers from Caritas youth and Caritas America participated and shared with various activities which added much joy to the children.
