Happy Labor Day

The Faculty of Pharmacy at BAU, in collaboration with Nini Hospital, organized a colon cancer awareness campaign aimed at promoting prevention and early detection of colon cancer among the Lebanese community. The event was held at Nini Hospital, where senior pharmacy students delivered educational health sessions and engaged directly with participants, under the academic supervision of Dr. Siba Jneid.

The sessions focused on evidence-based screening recommendations, including the appropriate screening age and strategies according to different risk groups, emphasizing the importance of early detection, since the majority of colorectal cancer cases may remain asymptomatic in the early stages. Students also addressed major risk factors for colorectal cancer and highlighted the role of healthy lifestyle practices in reducing risk.

Ms. Zeinab Kawtharani, a third-year Mass Communication student at the Faculty of Human Sciences, is currently making her mark at the 2026 Asian Beach Games in Sanya-China, representing both Lebanon and Beirut Arab University.

She has earned praise for her exceptional professionalism, providing high-caliber media coverage and reports for the Olympic Council of Asia’s official platform.

Zeinab secured this prestigious opportunity after winning a nationwide competition hosted by the OCA in Lebanon last year, designed to identify promising young media talent. In addition to her reporting duties, she is currently serving as the dedicated media liaison for the Lebanese national team.
