Saint George University of Beirut (SGUB) is proud to announce that it has been awarded Initial Institutional Accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education International (ACGME-I), effective July 17, 2026.

This landmark achievement reflects SGUB’s unwavering commitment to delivering world-class graduate medical education and meeting the highest international standards for residency training.

This success is the result of the vision, dedication, and collaboration of our University and Hospital leadership, department chairs, program directors, faculty, residents, coordinators, and administrative teams.

جرى ظهر يوم الاثنين 20 تموز/يوليو 2026، توقيع مذكّرة تفاهم للتعاون الأكاديمي بين جامعة القديس جاورجيوس في بيروت (SGUB) والكليّة الجامعيّة للّاعنف وحقوق الإنسان(AUNOHR) ، وذلك في مكاتب جامعة SGUB في الأشرفية.

كلمة ترحيب من الدكتور أنطوان حداد نائب رئيس جامعة SGUB، الذي استعرض الإطار المتكامل الذي أفضى إلى هذه الاتفاقية وركيزتها ثقافة اللاعنف التي تجمع المؤسّستين، واضعًا التطوير الأكاديمي والإنساني في طليعة اهتمامات الجامعة. كذلك كانت كلمة تمهيدية للدكتورة أوغاريت يونان مؤسِّسة AUNOHR، التي بادرت إلى هذه الاتفاقية، فذكّرت بمراحلها وبالتفكير الاستراتيجي الذي واكب التحضير لها كفلسفة تعاون وكحاجة مجتمعية بوجه أنواع العنف المتزايدة، مؤكدةً على الإمكانات العملية المتميزة التي ستخلقها للطلاب وأيضًا كنموذج يُحتذى مع جامعات أخرى.

وقّع الاتفاقية عن جامعة SGUB رئيسها الدكتور طارق متري، مع توقيع إضافي من العميد الدكتور حنا فارس الملكلّف متابعة تنفيذ هذه الاتفاقيّة، وعن AUNOHR الدكتورة أوغاريت يونان، رئيسة مجلس الأمناء.
وقد حضر مراسم التوقيع، من جانب SGUB إلى د. حداد ود. فارس، عميد كلية الطب الدكتور اسكندر نعمه وعميدة كلية التمريض الدكتورة جويل سعود ومدير مكتب التواصل السيد جورج ديك ومديرة مكتب الرئيس السيدة رولا كيروز. ومن جانب AUNOHR، حضر إلى جان د. يونان، الدكتور نادر سراج عضو مجلس الأمناء والدكتورة نهلا حرب عضو المجلس الأكاديمي والمكلّفة متابعة تنفيذ هذه الاتفاقية.

تشتمل الاتفاقيّة على التعاون في مجالات ثقافة اللاعنف وحقوق الإنسان المتصلة بالعلوم الصحيّة التي تتميّز بها جامعة SGUB في الطب والتمريض والعلوم الطبيعية. وسيكون البرنامج الأول النموذجي، الذي ستعدّه AUNOHR من ضمن مناهجها، شاملاً لسائر الطلاب ويمتدّ خلال السنة وفق الأصول الدراسيّة. وتكمن أهمية هذا البرنامج في الربط بين اهتمامات وحاجات الطلاب المباشرة والاختصاص العلمي الذي يدرسونه وبين مهارات ثقافة اللاعنف المتنوّعة جدًا وبما هي حاجة لكلّ طالب وطالبة ولكلّ مهنة.

وكانت مداخلات من الحاضرين، كلٌّ في مجاله ومن خبراته، بحيث قدّموا إضافات لتطوير البرنامج المشترك وجعله متناسبًا مع خصوصيّة كلّ فئة من الطلاب وفي الوقت عينه جامعًا لهم في نواحٍ أساسية.
