HOLY CROSS HARBOYAN HIGH SCHOOL’S NATHALIE AVESSIAN ATTENDS ETWINNING WORKSHOP IN HANOVER, GERMANY.

Miss Nathalie Avessian, Head of the Elementary and Special Education Departments at Holy Cross Harboyan High School, participated in the eTwinning Contact Seminar entitled “Green Erasmus and Sustainability,” held in Hanover, Germany, with the support of the Erasmus+ Programme.

The three-day seminar, held from Monday, September 7, to Wednesday, September 9, 2026, brought together educators from across Europe and partner countries to exchange ideas and experiences on promoting sustainability and developing environmentally responsible school initiatives.

As Holy Cross Harboyan High School continues to expand its involvement in eTwinning projects, the seminar offered a valuable opportunity to connect with educators from across Europe, explore innovative green-school initiatives, identify potential partner schools, and discuss prospects for international collaboration through future projects.

This participation reflects the school’s growing engagement with the eTwinning community as it prepares to receive the National eTwinning School Label. It further reaffirms the school’s commitment to educational innovation and to fostering sustainability, environmental responsibility, and global citizenship among its learners.

Holy Cross Harboyan High School extends its sincere gratitude to the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the eTwinning Lebanon team for their continued support. The school also thanks all the educators and participants with whom its delegate connected and exchanged experiences during this enriching seminar in Germany.

A group of 18 teachers from Holy Cross Harboyan High School’s Elementary and Special Education departments attended a workshop organized by the Arab Open Univeristy under the title of: Gamification in Education.

Participants discovered how game-based strategies can turn everyday learning into an engaging, interactive, and memorable experiences.

Holy Cross Harboyan High School Signs MOU with the American University of Science and Technology (AUST)

Holy Cross Harboyan High School has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the American University of Science and Technology (AUST), establishing a new educational partnership aimed at expanding academic opportunities for the school’s students, graduates, faculty, staff, and their families.

The agreement was officially signed on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the AUST Ashrafieh Campus by Dr. Riad Sakr, President of the American University of Science and Technology, and Mr. Aram Karadaghlian, Director of Holy Cross Harboyan High School.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Aziz Barbar, Dean of Students and Admissions and Dean of Research; Dr. Sebouh Gurunlian, Director of Admissions; Dr. Georges Masse, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences; Dr. Nazareth Nicolian, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics; and Dr. Rida Nuwayhid, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.

Through this partnership, Holy Cross Harboyan High School graduates, as well as members of its faculty and staff and their immediate family members, will benefit from special scholarships upon enrolling in AUST undergraduate or graduate programs. Outstanding students will also be eligible to compete for merit-based scholarships covering up to 100% of tuition fees, based on their performance in the official Lebanese Baccalaureate examinations or their SAT scores.

The agreement reflects Holy Cross Harboyan High School’s continued commitment to building meaningful partnerships with reputable higher education institutions and facilitating its students’ transition from school to university. It also supports the school’s mission to provide its students with opportunities that strengthen their academic and personal development and prepare them to pursue their future studies and careers with confidence.

Through this collaboration, Holy Cross Harboyan High School and AUST reaffirm their shared commitment to investing in education, empowering future generations, and preparing young people to lead with knowledge, integrity, confidence, and excellence.

HOLY CROSS HARBOYAN HIGH SCHOOL AND THE AMERICAN UNIVERISTY OF CYPRUS EXPAND STRATEGIC EDUCATIONAL PARTNERSHIP

Zalka, Lebanon – August 7, 2026

Holy Cross Harboyan High School (HCHHS) and the American University of Cyprus (AUCY) have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking a significant expansion of the strategic partnership established between the two institutions in April 2025.

The agreement was signed at the premises of Holy Cross Harboyan High School by AUCY Director of Admissions and Marketing Mr. Farid Haikal, and HCHHS Director Mr. Aram Karadaghlian. It reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to enhancing educational opportunities, promoting academic excellence, and strengthening cooperation between secondary and higher education.

While the initial agreement primarily focused on providing scholarship opportunities for HCHHS graduates, the newly signed MOU broadens the scope of collaboration to include comprehensive professional development programs for faculty members, parent and student educational workshops, university and career guidance initiatives, sponsorship of selected school events, and continued scholarship support for outstanding and deserving students, reaching as high as 100%.

The agreement also establishes a framework for sustained institutional cooperation through joint educational initiatives, regular coordination, and the development of programs that promote innovation, leadership, and university readiness, creating long-term value for students, educators, and the wider school community.

The signing of the renewed Memorandum of Understanding represents another milestone in Holy Cross Harboyan High School’s ongoing efforts to expand its international academic partnerships and provide its students and faculty with access to high-quality educational opportunities beyond the classroom.
