Faculty members and MSc Civil Engineering students sharpened their BIM skills during a week-long training at USEK. Led by Mr. Jacques Rigal from "Campus des Métiers et des Qualifications d’Excellence BTP et usage du numérique", the sessions focused on advanced digital construction techniques. Over two weeks, USEK became a hub for knowledge-sharing through an Electrical Habilitation training, led by Mr. Jean-François Redon and attended by professionals from USEK, ITI (Institut Technique Industriel), and IPNET (Institut Pédagogique National de l'Enseignement Technique) With the support of the French Ministry of Education and AFD (Agence Française de Développement), the training highlighted the importance of technical excellence, safety standards, and cross-institutional collaboration.

We were delighted to welcome 90 students from La Cité Culturelle to USEK. After a tour of our campus facilities, they took part in an interactive session at the biodiesel pilot plant and the engineering labs.

From discovering how biodiesel is produced to seeing firsthand how it’s tested and analyzed, our visitors explored the real-world impact of sustainable technologies.

As part of the HES-SO–funded “Pile_Com” project, Prof. Tilda Akiki and Dr. Bechara Nehme made an exciting academic visit to the Haute École d’Ingénierie et d’Architecture (HEIA) in Fribourg, Switzerland. They joined forces with Prof. Moncef J. Lalou and his team to advance research on the control and modeling of a fuel cell stack, while also exploring opportunities for future collaborations and academic exchanges between the two institutions.
