The official page of the Neuroscience Research Center (NRC) at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Lebanese University. The NRC was founded by the internationally renowned neurosurgeon, Professor Youssef Fares, in 2014. It became the first center in the Middle East and North Africa region to offer Master of Science (MSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in Neuroscience, Neuropsychology

, and Neuroimaging. The NRC aims to graduate researchers and academic scholars that will excel and make an impact in the neural sciences. Studies conducted at the NRC extend across a range of basic scientific research, which aims to unveil the basics of brain function and activity, to clinical and translational projects which aim to define, treat and prevent disorders of the central and peripheral nervous systems. In 2017, Founding Director Professor Youssef Fares received the International World Quality Commitment Award in the GOLD Category, on behalf of the NRC. The prestigious award honors an organization’s merits in innovation, quality and excellence.
