Book Donation Ceremony: “Letters to My Grandchildren” Presented to School Libraries
On Monday, 29 June 2026, the family of Ambassador Sutham Sakonniyom and Ambassador Malivieng Sakonniyom organised a ceremony to donate copies of the book “Letters to My Grandchildren”, written by President Thongloun Sisoulith, in both Lao and English editions, to the libraries of Lao secondary schools and international secondary schools.
The books were presented to 20 schools across Vientiane Capital.
After receiving the books, student representatives expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the President as the author. They described the book as a valuable treasure and an important legacy that would inspire young people to study diligently and become good citizens of the nation.
Particular emphasis was placed on the quotation:
“Life requires struggle, and one must struggle in order to live.”
Students noted that this message would encourage them not to give up in their studies and personal development.
The total value of the books donated on this occasion was approximately 32,250,000 kip.
