Our Inclusion Toy and Book Sale was a wonderful success!

As part of Inclusion Week, our Primary pupils donated pre-loved toys and books, giving cherished items a new home while supporting a meaningful cause. Through this initiative, pupils demonstrated kindness, responsibility, and an understanding of sustainable choices by encouraging reuse and reducing waste.

The funds raised will help enhance inclusive play opportunities within our school, creating spaces where every child feels valued, supported, and able to thrive.

We are incredibly proud of the compassion, enthusiasm, and community spirit shown by our pupils. Together, they have made a positive difference while helping to build a more inclusive school community where every child grows.

Our F2A and F2B pupils enjoyed an exciting and highly engaging visit from VF Learning Center, where they explored the world of LEGO robotics through a series of hands-on, enquiry-based activities.

Working collaboratively in teams, the children first built LEGO models in the shape of pigs before taking part in a fun and purposeful robot clean-up challenge. Using remote-controlled forklift robots, they carefully transported objects into a collection box, developing precision and coordination through play.

Throughout the session, pupils strengthened their teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and fine motor skills. They also demonstrated curiosity, creativity, and confidence as they explored, tested ideas, and learned through trial and error.

The activity created a lively and joyful learning environment, with pupils fully engaged as they observed the robots in action and responded with excitement and wonder.

We extend our sincere thanks to VF Learning Center for inspiring our young learners through an engaging introduction to robotics, technology, and innovation. 🌟🤖

🎉 International Children’s Day at HISV 🎉

To celebrate International Children’s Day, pupils across the school enjoyed a variety of exciting and engaging activities specially organised for their year groups.

Our Early Years pupils took part in fun water play activities and a creative art session, where they used their fingertips dipped in paint to create colourful leaves on a beautiful tree artwork. The activity encouraged creativity, exploration, and self-expression through hands-on learning experiences.

Meanwhile, pupils from Upper Year 7 to Year 9 participated in a Mathematics Escape Room challenge. Working collaboratively in teams, pupils solved a series of mathematical puzzles and clues to unlock a special box of treats. The activity promoted teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in a fun and interactive way.

Many classes also enjoyed movie time and snack parties, giving pupils the opportunity to relax, celebrate, and create joyful memories together with their classmates.

It was a wonderful day filled with creativity, collaboration, laughter, and celebration as we recognised International Children’s Day across our HISV community. ✨

🌱🔍 Year 2B Science Investigation: Exploring Seeds & Bulbs

As part of their Science learning, Year 2B pupils explored the fascinating world of seeds and bulbs through a hands-on investigation activity. Pupils observed and compared a variety of plants, including onions, ginger, and almonds, using magnifying glasses to examine their shapes, textures, smells, and unique features more closely.

Following their investigation, pupils recorded and summarised their findings, identifying similarities and differences between each plant. Through this engaging learning experience, pupils developed important observation, comparison, and scientific enquiry skills while deepening their understanding of how plants grow and thrive in the natural world. 🌿✨

🏀🇱🇦 A Proud Achievement for Dragon – Year 9A

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Dragon from Year 9A, who was part of the championship-winning youth basketball team Lao Baller at the “3x3 Shoot It Bas” U14 Basketball Tournament in Bangkok.

Competing against some of Thailand’s leading youth basketball clubs, the team demonstrated remarkable teamwork, determination, and confidence throughout the competition. After an intense series of matches, they secured the championship title and proudly represented Laos on an international stage. 🏆👏

Dragon’s achievement reflects the dedication, discipline, and perseverance developed both on and off the court. We are delighted to see him represent both Laos and our school community with such pride and sportsmanship.

🎨 Imaginary Animals Mural Project 🐾

As part of the Oxford International Curriculum (OIC), our Year 6 pupils explored imagination, collaboration, and artistic expression through their Imaginary Animals mural project.

From brainstorming and sketching to painting and adding final details, pupils worked together to create colourful, whimsical creatures filled with unique patterns, personalities, and creative ideas.

Through this project, pupils strengthened their communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and confidence while learning to express individuality through art.

Now proudly displayed in our garden area, the completed mural brings colour, creativity, and joy to our school environment — a wonderful celebration of imagination and learning through art.

🌍 Y9B Global Skills Project at Nongnieng Primary School ✨
As part of their Oxford International Curriculum (OIC) Global Skills learning, our Y9B pupils visited Nongnieng Primary School to lead a meaningful community project focused on language learning, communication, and cultural understanding.
Through interactive games, creative activities, and engaging English challenges, pupils encouraged younger learners to explore the value of second languages while building confidence in using English in a fun and supportive environment. 📚💬
The experience also allowed our pupils to apply key OIC Global Skills including collaboration, communication, creativity, and leadership beyond the classroom; developing empathy, confidence, and real-world learning through community engagement.
