Phonics for decoding is all about helping children turn written letters into spoken sounds, so they can read words independently instead of memorizing them.

What is decoding?

Decoding means:
👉 Looking at letters
👉 Saying the sounds
👉 Blending the sounds together to read a word

Example:
c + a + t → “c-a-t” → cat
