Franziska Trautmann and Max Steitz were drinking from a type of glass bottles one night a few years ago when they decided they would start collecting bottles from fellow Tulane University students and friends for recycling. “We decided to be a part of the solution,” Trautmann says. Soon, they had a mountain of bottles in their backyard and were buying a machine to pulverize glass into sand. ⁠

Today, Steitz and Trautmann, both 25 years old, are recycling about 100,000 pounds of glass every month in a 40,000-square-foot facility at .nola. So far, they have diverted 3.2 million pounds of glass from landfills with just eight employees. ⁠

The company has 12 collection containers throughout the city of New Orleans. They only ask locals to clean the glass of food scraps before tossing them in; they don’t need to remove labels and caps, “because the machine is able to separate the caps from the glass,” Trautmann explains. ⁠

The glass-sand is then used for everything from jewelry to landscaping. But the most urgent repurposing is for Louisiana’s shrinking coastline. So far, Glass Half Full has recycled 20 tons of glass each for two wetland restoration projects. ⁠

Dropping into a park, community garden or other urban green space between three and four times a week can cut people’s chances of taking medication for anxiety or depression by a third.

The positive impact - documented by researchers at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare - also extends to physical health.

Finnish researchers surveyed 16,000 residents from Helsinki and surrounding areas.

The respondents were quizzed on how often they visited green spaces - including not just forests and parks, but wetlands, cemeteries and ‘blue areas’ like lakes.

Researchers also collected information from respondents on how many prescription drugs they took. This was used as a general indication of mental and physical health.

The correlation between time in nature and drug use was stark. A resident visiting a green space three or four times a week was 33 per cent less likely to use mental health drugs, and 26 per cent less likely to use asthma drugs.

Posted • Standing above a conveyor belt in the Recology center at San Francisco’s Pier 96, where the contents of the city’s blue bins get sorted before being sent to recycling plants, it’s clear there is some confusion about what can and cannot be recycled.

Along with the scraps of paper, water bottles and soda cans are plastic bags, child-size sunglasses and a torn bed sheet — random nonrecyclables that workers and robots will have to remove so they don’t gunk up the machinery or dilute the purity of what actually can be recycled.

Recycling can be confusing, even for the conscientious. Guidelines vary about which bin that coffee cup lid, milk carton or yogurt container belongs to, depending on the recycling service where you live.

Californians in general could do better.

The state recycles or composts about 42% of its trash, far short of its goal of 75%, according to the state agency CalRecycle — and many materials put in the trash could be recycled.

But paying a little bit of attention can make a difference, waste experts say.

We have 1 package:
A yearly subscription 104 KWD a year, with a weekly pick up, 360 liter capacity.

Regarding the pick up:

1- with the one year subscription, the pick up is on a weekly schedule.

Expectation:
any time between 6:00 am to 5 pm
5 x 50 gallon bags maximum per subscription pr pick up
A specific day will be set
* Day might change for total area and not specific to each household
The time might change + or - 2 hours due to the following season: Ramadan, Summer, Working hours, Recycling plant, official holiday
Official holidays are an off day, it will be picked up the week after or the same week but a different day
You can pause or transfer a service to operated areas
The subscription is a one year subscription and will not extended for summer holidays or vacation time

ثانيا من ناحيه تجاريه:
١- تستوجب الخدمه مصاريف التوصيل و مصاريف أخرى يجب ان يتم تغطيتها و مثال بسيط عمال التوصيل للمطاعم تأخذ مبلغ للخدمه.
٢- مشروع اعادة التدوير هو مشروع خاص و الفكره منه :
- الاستمرارية في الخدمه
- دعم المصانع المحليه
٣- مع العلم انه المبالغ التي يتم تجميعها و بيعها على المصانع لا تغطي مصاريف الوقود لنفس الاسبوع!
٤- التجاره نوعين، خدمي او تجاري. في حال يتم تجميع الشركات فقط معادن، أو فقط الأوراق و الكرتون، فتكون تجاريه، فالكميه لكل درب تكون مجديه و هذا سبب وجود اصحاب أعمال يتجولون في المناطق السكنيه و تجاريه، لهم اختصاص الاوراق و الكرتون ، او معادن. ( الهاف لوري مع العمال)
٥- اما الخدمي، فتركيزه على خدمة العميل. فالكميه و النوعيه لا تعتبر تجاريه الا بعد الفرز. الفائده عائده للمشترك المهتم بأن يكون لديه بديل لتدوير المواد من منزله.

ثالثا: لماذا الضروره بالمساهمه في اعادة التدوير…
-اعادة التدوير مسؤوليه اجتماعيه، لحمايتنا و مجتمعنا و الاجيال القادمه من التلوث والأمراض.
-لتوفير الاراضي الشح التي أخذت حيز أكثر من الاراضي السكنيه. مثال اماكن المرادم بعمق ٣٠ متر و ١٠٪؜ من اراضي الكويت.
-الهدف هو ان نجعل كل منزل ينتج صفر مخلفات (zero waste) ، هذه العمليه تبدأ و تنجح بمساهمة كل بيت في نية الاستدامه:
١- التدوير ٢- التوفير ٣- تحويل مخلفات الاكل الى سماد عضوي.

اولا : في دول العالم المبلغ المدفوع نظير اعادة التدوير هو بالاصل استرداد مبالغ تحفيزيه تقدمها الحكومات للشركات المصنعه كدعم واليكم مثال توضيحي : .
مثلا قناني الماء التي قيمتها الشرائيه ٥٠٠ فلس و عندما يتم استرداد القناني الفاضيه يسترجع لك مثلا ٢٠٠ فلس لكل قنينه . (طبعا الارقام للتوضيح و ليس صحيحه)

في اوربا و غيرها الدوله تدفع دعم للشركات من تجميع ال ٢٠٠ فلس، و الشركات توظف العماله الذي يكلفها راتب، و نقل، و وقود، و تأمين. في الكويت هذا المبالغ مدعومه و تعتبر الاقل في العالم. فالتأمين في الخارج ١٠٠ دك لضد الغير و الكويت ١٥ دك. العماله ١٥٠ دك و في الخارج ٤٠٥ دك. الوقود في الكويت ٨٥ فلس لللتر و الخارج ٢٤٠ فلس (الامارات) . **فعندما يتم توصيل المواد في الخارج يتم استرجاع المبلغ + جزء ما توفره الشركات ليتم تشجيع الشعب في تجميع واسترجاع المواد الخام.
