Just got to join-in ET Now's live show '𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠' as a Panelist. The show focused on Advertising Guidelines for Celebrities and Social Media Influencers.

✔ In my view, while there are ASCI Guidelines, it is on celebrities/influencers to follow and decide whether what they are promoting is in favor of their audience or people who trust and follow them.

✔ Celebrities/Influencers end up making unrealistic claims many times. This encompasses promotions of personal care, lifestyle, healthcare and food products. Isn't that unethical on part of these celebrities/influencers to misguide people who trust them?

✔ Examples: Ads promoting fairness creams, soft drinks, fast food, wearables and even healthcare.

✔ Most of us must have seen these ads where celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan are shown sitting near snowy mountains wearing just a Warmer they endorse for; likewise Shahrukh Khan to John Abraham, there is a long list of celebrities who do not think twice before promoting unrealistic claims. What if it affects their audience's lives adversely?
