Learn from expert drone pilots and engineers from UNIST and CRESTAR.
Students will explore how drones work, practise safe flying, and try simple coding to control their own drone.

Work together, solve challenges, and build confidence along the way.

Ulsan Hyundai International School was recently featured in local media for our Lunar New Year (Seollal) cultural celebration.

Students from 16 countries took part in a special Korean cultural experience, wearing hanbok, performing traditional sebae bows, playing dakkji, enjoying Korean food such as tteok and sikhye, and participating in art activities inspired by the Year of the Horse.

The articles highlighted UHIS’s commitment to helping international students understand and appreciate Korean traditions, as well as our long-standing role in the Ulsan community since 1982.

Hands-on Science at UHIS. Our students have been busy exploring science through practical, hands-on learning. From baking bread to observe how yeast works, to designing milkshakes to investigate solubility, and creating iceboxes and ice pops to test insulation, learning has been active, creative and full of curiosity. Along the way, there has been lots of teamwork, close observation, predicting and testing as students worked together to explore ideas and learn from their results. Experiences like these help build scientific thinking and show that some of the best learning happens when students are fully engaged and having fun.

It is always a pleasure to welcome visits from former staff and students.

Before Christmas, Hugh and Kory Dyson stopped by to say hello. Mr Dyson served as Headteacher of HFS from 1996 to 2012, leading the school through a significant period of growth and achieving its initial CIS accreditation.

Kory and his sister, Ella, were students at HFS during this time and grew up in the old foreigners’ compound. Following his time at HFS, Kory attended King Edward VI School before studying Chemical Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University, where he completed both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He is currently taking time out to travel the world.

If you are a former student or staff member and you happen to be in Ulsan you are always welcome to pop in and say hello.

Santa visits the Ulsan Children's Home.
Last week Sanata delivered the gift bought by the UHIS community to the children at the Ulsan Children's Home.

Bringing Christmas cheer to the Ulsan Children's Home is now a well-established tradition at UHIS, and we are looking forward to bringing even more cheer next year.

Thank you to everyone who bought a gift; your kindness made some people very happy.
