제59회 단종문화제, 그리고 2회째를 맞은 단종미식제 '왕과 사는 밥상' 토크쇼에 다녀왔다. 영화 의 음식 이야기부터 그동안 작업했던 수많은 작품의 뒷이야기까지 즐겁게 나누고 온 시간.

​"관객 1억 명을 사로잡은 음식을 만들다."
피디님의 소개에 얼굴이 화끈거렸지만, 이제는 OTT를 통해 전 세계인이 우리 콘텐츠를 보는 시대니 내가 만든 음식을 본 사람도 1억 명이 넘지 않겠냐는 부연 설명에 가슴이 뭉클해졌다.

​동생의 추천으로 시작된 영화와의 인연이 엄마를 음식 감독의 길로 이끌었고, 어느덧 21년이라는 시간이 흘렀다. 주마등처럼 스쳐 지나가는 세월 속에 아버지와 이모, 이모부, 그리고 우리 가족이 함께해주어 더없이 소중하고 뜻깊었던 자리.

CNN Original series ‘K-everything’ 예고편이 공개됐다.

작년 6월쯤 처음 연락 받고, 몇달간 메일 주고받다가
겨울에 촬영했던 프로젝트가 벌써 방송을 앞두고 있다니… 시간 진짜 빠르다.
오랫동안 왕팬이었던 Daniel Dae Kim과 함께 촬영할 수 있어서
긴장되면서도 정말 즐거웠던 순간이었다.

‘K-everything’은
K-Food, K-Film, K-Pop, K-Drama
총 4개의 시리즈로 구성되어 있고,

나는 ‘K-Food’ 파트에서
Daniel과 함께 한국 대표 음식들을 만들면서
그동안 영화와 드라마 속에서 작업했던 음식 이야기들을 나눴다.
K-콘텐츠가 전 세계적으로 사랑받으면서
한국 음식을 직접 경험해보고 싶어 하는 사람들이 정말 많아졌다는 걸 요즘 더 실감한다.
예전에는 영화/드라마 푸드 스타일링이랑
외국인 대상 요리 수업은 전혀 다른 영역이라고 생각했는데,
팬데믹 이후 OTT channel을 통해
전 세계가 한국 콘텐츠를 훨씬 쉽게 접하게 되면서
이제는 완전히 연결되어 있다는 느낌이다.

내 분량이 얼마나 나올지는 모르겠지만,
CNN과 함께 한식 이야기를 담았다는 것만으로도
충분히 의미 있고 보람 있었다.

The trailer for CNN Original series “K-everything” is finally out.

I first got contacted around June last year,
went through many emails, and filmed during the winter and now it’s about to air. Time flies.

Filming with someone I’ve been a longtime fan of,
Daniel Dae Kim, was both nerve-wracking and exciting at the same time.

“K-everything” is made up of four segments:
K-Food, K-Film, K-Pop, and K-Drama.

I’m featured in the K-Food segment,
where Daniel and I cook iconic Korean dishes
and talk about the food stories I’ve worked on in films and dramas.

With the global rise of Korean film and drama,
more people are becoming curious about Korean food
and want to experience it in their own way.

I used to think my work in film/drama food styling
and my cooking classes for international guests
were completely separate worlds.
But after the pandemic, with OTT platforms making Korean content more accessible,
it really feels like everything is now connected.

Not sure how much I’ll be on screen,
but just being part of this project with CNN
and sharing stories about Korean food already means a lot to me!!! STAY TUNED EVERYONE!!

영화 [왕과사는남자]의 인기로
나도 영광스럽게 다양한 미디어에서 인터뷰 요청이 있다.
그중 잡지 [메종 코리아]에 인터뷰가 실렸다.

조선 제6대 왕, 단종은 1457년 6월, 수양대군에 의해 노산군으로 강봉되었고 강원도 영월 청령포로 유배길에 오른다. 어린 왕의 나이는 열일곱. 사약을 받기까지 유배 생활은 고작 4개월. 영화 는 이 짧고 슬픈 기간을, 단종이 청령포 사람들이 지어준 밥을 먹으며 울고 웃는 이야기로 채운다. 단종이 유배 길에 오른지 정확히 569년 후인 2026년, 그 밥상을 직접 차린 이가 있다. 영화 푸드 팀의 푸드디렉터, 이혜원(푸드앤컬쳐코리아의 대표)이다.

This week was filled with so much joy and sharing Korea’s jang (fermented sauce) culture with those who are truly fascinated by it, answering their endless questions, and talking about the deep flavors behind it all.

Every time I hear that our Korean cooking class was the most enjoyable, meaningful, and tastiest part of their trip to Korea… my heart just bursts with pride and all the tiredness simply melts away 😄💛

Another week full of happy and rewarding moments!!!!

작년 4~5월, 가열차게 촬영했던 오징어게임 시즌3.
여러 장면의 음식 세팅 중 가장 공들였던 건 4화의 ‘한식 만찬’이었다.

감독님께서 “한식 만찬을 잘 보여주고 싶다”고 하셨고
자신의 선택지이지만 삶과 죽음의 경계에서 먹는 만찬이라는 주제를 두고 몇 달 동안 수십번의 아이디어 회의끝에 선택된 음식 구성이었다.

결국 우리의 음식은 '밥' 아닐까.
밥, 국, 반찬으로 차려진 한식 상차림. 밥심으로 살아가는 우리들.
모락모락 김 나는 흰쌀밥을 한 숟갈 한 숟갈 먹으며 굶주림을 채우며 연기하던 배우들 모습이 아직도 선하다.
이틀간의 촬영 동안 쌀 20kg을 싹 다 써버린 것도 지금 생각하면 웃음 나오는 추억.

잔치상에 빠지지 않는 잡채와 갈비찜 그리고 나물반찬들을 상에 올리고 싶었고 개인적으로 꼭 넣고 싶었던 미역국과 감독님의 흰쌀밥과 함께 전체적인 균형을 맞춰가며 만찬 밥상을 완성했다.

VIP 파티 씬의 핑거푸드,
관람룸에서 샴페인과 함께 즐기는 음식 세팅까지,
시즌3의 주요 음식 장면들에 함께했다.

시즌1에도 함께할 뻔했지만 여러 이유로 못했던 작업이라
이번 시즌3 참여는 더 특별하고 의미 있었던 영광스러웠던 시간들.

Last spring, I worked on Squid Game Season 3 —
and the most intense food scene I worked was the Korean last supper in Episode 4.

The director wanted to show a proper Hansik meal at the edge of life and death in the episode.
After months of planning, we created a table of bap, soup, and side dishes, a true Korean-style feast.

20kg of rice was cooked over two days.

I wanted to include all the essentials of a Korean feast—japchae, galbijjim, and a variety of namul.
Personally, I really wanted to add miyeokguk.
And the director’s emphasis, steamed white rice.
With everything in balance, the meal table was complete. That meal wasn’t just food, I thought it was emotion, story, and survival.

I also did the VIP party finger foods and the viewing room bites with champagne.

Nearly joined Season 1, but finally got to do Season 3 which is a truly meaningful and unforgettable experience for me.

매일 의미 있는 시간을 만들어갈 수 있다는 게 참 감사하다.
전 세계에서 온 사람들과 함께 한식을 만들고, 나누고, 이야기하는 이 모든 순간들.
처음엔 낯설고 어색하던 표정이
한식의 스토리텔링과 요리 실습을 함께 하며 점점 따뜻한 미소로 바뀌는 걸 볼 때마다,
‘내가 하는 일이 참 멋지고 의미 있구나’라는 생각이 든다.
한식으로 이어진 소중한 추억들을 차곡차곡 저장하며..!

Cooking, sharing, and connecting through Korean food with people from all over the world, these moments mean a lot to me.
Some of the visitors look unsure or unfamiliar with Korean dishes but as we dive into the stories behind each dish and cook together, those expressions slowly turn into warm, genuine smiles.
And every time that happens, I am so happy and grateful to see the changes!
what I do is not just a job—it's something truly meaningful. Collecting these precious memories, day by day, one by one through Hansik, my Korean cooking class!

2024년을 시작하며 촬영했던 드라마 [허식당]
제목답게 음식이 정말 많이 나와서
군산을 쉴 새 없이 오가며 촬영했던 기억이 아직도 생생하다.

극 중 허균(시우민)님의 손대역을 맡았던 장면,
현장에서 모니터 녹화한 영상과 비교해보니
채를 썰 때 들썩이는(?) 허균님의 리듬이 너무 재밌네!

이제 진짜 내 손은 (여자가 아닌) 작은 체구 남자 연기자의 손대역으로 딱인 듯.

Started off 2024 filming the drama Heo’s Kitchen.
As the title suggests, it’s packed with food scenes—
I was constantly traveling back and forth to Gunsan for the shoot!

I did the hand double work for Heo Gyun (played by Xiumin),
and when I watched the monitor footage,
his little shoulder bounces while slicing made me laugh out loud.
At this point, I think my hands are officially certified
for small-framed male characters.

정말 정신없던 4월의 스케치!
하루하루 요리 수업에, 무려 3개의 촬영이 겹쳐서 말 그대로 눈코 뜰 새 없이 바빴던 한 달이었어요.

그래도 매 수업마다 수업에 참가하는 모든분들의 밝은 에너지와 즐거운 분위기 덕분에 저도 힘이 나고, 더 열정적으로 수업에 임할 수 있었답니다.

요즘 제 일상은 개인 계정 ()에 더 자주 올리다 보니, 회사 계정은 조금 뜸하게 되네요.
곧 촬영 내용들과 앞으로 개봉&상영하는 저희 작품 비하인드 스토리도 하나씩 다시 올려볼께요!



A little sketch of my absolutely hectic April!
Between daily cooking classes and three overlapping film shoots, it was a month where I barely had time to catch my breath.

But every time I stepped into class, the bright energy and good vibes from everyone gave me the strength to keep going—and made me even more passionate about teaching.

Lately, I’ve been sharing more of my daily life over on my personal account (), so this page has been a bit quiet.
I’ll be posting more soon—behind-the-scenes stories from recent shoots and some exciting projects that are coming to the screen!

매일이 치열하게 시간을 쪼개며 보내는 3-4월이다.
올해는 수업이 많은 3월부터 여러개 영화/드라마 촬영이 함께 겹쳐서 더욱 바쁘게 하루하루를 보내고 있다.
그럼에도 불구하고 동료들의 든든한 도움과 가족의 따뜻한 응원 덕분에 잘 헤쳐나가고 있다.

한식을 배우러 오는 외국인 분들의 전체 일정중에
우리 요리 수업이 오래 기억에 남는 유익한 시간이 되길 바라는 마음으로 매 수업에 최선을 다한다.

때로는 too much talker 같이 너무 말을 많이 하고 있는게 아닌가 싶다가도 그들의 열정가득한 눈빛과 질문공세를 받을땐 나의 에너지가 넘쳐흐르는듯 하다.

이 마음과 노력이 잘 전달되고 있기를.
이를 계기로 우리 한식을 더 많이 사랑하고 좋아해주시길.
수업하며 찍은 사진들 보니 미소가 흘러나온다.


These past few months have been intense.
March and April are fully packed with classes and multipul film and drama shoots. Every day feels like a race against time.Thanks to the solid support from my team and warm encouragement from my family.

I always hope that our Korean cooking classes become a memorable and meaningful part of the visitors’ journey in Korea. So I try my best to do in every session of classes.

Sometimes I wonder if I talk too much — a bit of a “too much talker.”
But when I see their passionate eyes and get bombarded with curious questions, I feel my energy overflowing.

I hope that my passion and effort truly reach them. and it sparks a deeper love for Korean food.
Looking back at the photos from class today… I couldn’t help but smile.👍😊

우린 요즘 영화 3편과 넷플릭스 드라마의 푸드스타일리스트로 요리자문하며 촬영하며 그리고 요리수업을 바쁘게 진행하고 있어요.
전국을 왔다갔다 바쁘게 지내는 와중에
방문할때마다 늘 너무 좋은 문경새재에서..
여길봐도 저길봐도 다 그림같네요.

We are currently busy working as food stylists and culinary consultants for three films and a Netflix drama, all while running our cooking classes.

Amidst the hectic schedule of traveling across the country, every visit to feels like a breath of fresh air.

Everywhere I look, it is like a picture-perfect scene.
