Hello to everyone here from Korea! The year 2015 is well on it's way and the lunar new year is coming next week! Most people will be visiting their parents and family in their hometowns and almost all train tickets are booked for the end of next week. Those here in Seoul for the 설날 can experience traditional activities around Seoul during the Feb 18th-22nd.

Also, It is almost time for new Dongguk Exchange students to start packing their things and get ready to experience the mysterious Korea. The dongguk dorms open on 25th and the semester officially starts in the beginning of March.

Seollal (Lunar New Year) Celebrations in Korea | Official Korea Tourism Organization Seollal (Lunar New Year), a Korean national holiday, which falls on January 1st of the lunar calendar, is a time for family gatherings and ancestral rites.

Couple of weeks ago we visited the Art street close to Hyehwa station in Seoul. (대학로 벽화마을) The weather had already dropped way below zero and it felt even colder, but the art was really great. For those who haven't had the chance yet should definitely check it out.

Jekyll & Hyde, the musical available until April 25, 2015 at the Blue Square Samsung Electronics Hall. Our international exchange students already visited the musical and were amazed by the incredible singing and acting skills of every cast member.
The story is about doctor Jekyll in 1885 who was able to seperate the good and the bad of the human soul through his experiments in his laboratorium. He did an experiment on himself that got out of control turning him into a person with two personalities naming the other ego Mr. Hyde. Strange things happen to him and nobody is safe around him anymore.

There is a European christmas market in Seoul treating you with delicious traditional snacks and drinks from different countries in Europe. It's a nice place to visit when you are curious about European food and beverages during christmas :)

Dutch King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visited Dongguk University on November 3, 2014. Had a great seminar on Learning & Creative Economy and greeted with our Dutch exchange incoming students. Such a great honor to have them at our campus!
