Rethinking Seoul - New Strategies for Urban Regeneration

Another lecture will be held by Sander Lenferink from Radboud Universiteit. His lecture is called: "Transit-oriented development for urban redevelopment in the Netherlands"

Recently the Netherlands has rediscovered the potential of public transport for stimulating urban development. In this lecture on transit-oriented development (TOD), the Dutch approach to TOD will be elaborated, as well as, the long history of the Dutch with regard to integrating public transport and real estate development. Some recent Dutch examples will be highlighted, including the redevelopment projects of the five major railway stations in the Netherlands.

Also this year, we are having a series of lectures during the summer school! We are very happy to announce a lecture of Jeanne-Francoise Fischer from UdK Berlin!

Her lecture will deal with case studies of urban development in Berlin and the research at the University of the Arts Berlin. Jeanne-Françoise Fischer will be lecturing on goals and implementation strategies for urban renewal projects.

with the introduction of our lecturers Erwin van der Krabben and Jasper Beekmans from Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, the list of lecturers will be complete.

Prof. van der Krabben will give a lecture called ‘Land management strategies for urban transformation’ and Jasper Beekmans will give a lecture on the problems around monofunctional industrial sites in the Netherlands and the challenges with these areas that emerged after the economic crisis. The title of the lecture is: ‘Decline and urban regeneration of industrial sites’.
