The UNDP Seoul Policy Centre will launch the Global Human Development Report 2013: The Rise of the South, on 4 April at 2:30pm in the International Studies Hall, Graduate School of International Studies at Korea University.

The 2013 Human Development Report examines the profound shift in global dynamics driven by the fast-rising new powers of the developing world and its long-term implications for human development, global governance and trade.
A panel discussion on the report’s findings will include H.E. Hernan Brantes, Ambassador of Chile, H.E. Enamul Kabir, Ambassador of Bangladesh, Hwo-Yeon Lee of KOICA’s Capacity Development Planning Team, Professor Eun-mee Kim, Dean of the Graduate School of International Studies of Ewha Women’s University and Mr Boo-wan Nam of the Korea NGO Council for Overseas Co-operation.

Korea's premier English-language university-level Model United Nations conference based in Seoul now invites you.

Recruitment for the Eighth-Annual MUNOS Summit Secretariat

제 8회 서울모의유엔총회는 유엔개발계획 서울 정책센터(UNDP Seoul Policy Centre)가 함께 합니다.

Applicants accepted to the MUNOS Summit 2013 Secretariat will engage in organizing the conference until and during the event date in August. Information for application is specified in the following:

Responsibilities

- Work together with other Student Officers in organizing and advertising the conference with full commitment.

- Represent the conference at your university and other joining communities to attract prospective delegates

- Constantly attend official Secretariat meetings which will be held 3-4 times per month and actively participate in unofficial gatherings

- Serve as presiding officers during the conference on mid-August

- Be responsive to irregular online communication and meetings

- Attend pre-conference orientations with adequate preparation and produce research papers for delegate education

Qualifications

- Excellent command of both written and spoken English

- Advanced knowledge of the United Nations and current issues of international affairs

- Experience in managerial position

- Currently enrolled in university or scheduled to enroll in 2013

- Previous experience in Model United Nations conferences and other relevant debate/mock trial / leadership programs

Reasons for Applying

- Disseminate the ideal of participatory Model United Nations among Korean university students

- Acquire a complete hands-on experience in orchestrating a conference of huge scale and significance

- Establish connections with some of the most innovative and competitive minds attending leading universities in Korea and abroad
