교육목표는 심신이 조화된 성실하고 건강한 민주시민, 과학적인 사고와 문제해결 능력이 탁월한 창조적인 기술인, 공동체의 일에 협동하고 봉사하는 실천인을 육성하는 것이다. 1992년 12월 11일 상명공업고등학교로 설립 인가받아 1994년 3월 2일 상명공업고등학교로 개교하였다. 2001년 3월 학교 법인 미래학원으로 분리하고 2003년 2월 미래산업과학고등학교로 교명을 변경하였다. 교훈은 '기술, 창조, 봉사'이며 교목은 은행나무, 교화는 매화이다. 1, 2학년기준 발명창작과, 발명특허과, 디자인과가 있다.
