It introduces additional space within an existing space with a wooden framework. The design concept involves using a wooden structure inspired by the traditional interlocking style of a HANOK (Traditional Korean Wooden Framework) to create extra space in a confined office environment. The wooden structure can be disassembled, reassembled, and used continuously. I offer a sustainable wooden framework solution for office spaces.

ESG strategy for sustainable design: 지속가능한
디자인·콘텐츠를 위한 ESG 전략
Written by: LEE Jinyoung
(Content Summary)

1. Expanding the ESG concept in light of changes in the business environment and global trends

- This book introduces the origin and historical background of the ESG concept that everyone has heard of at least once, and introduces the ESG concept and similar theoretical concepts. It also shows how the ESG concept is expanding in the future. In addition, based on industrial statistics that the changing trend of social value (various social values brought about by severe global warming) is related to profits and investments, which are the core of companies, this book explores the relevance and expansion potential of design thinking and ESG management in the future consumption environment.
(Main Keywords)
* Design Thinking from an innovation perspective: human-centred approach, technological feasibility, sustainability * International ESG management trends: prioritising the qualitative value of customers' needs, increasing collaboration between companies to introduce new technologies, and creating sustainable economic and social value

2. Role of design and content in realising sustainable social value

- In order to increase sustainable social value, it is necessary to create new ideas and solutions to solve social problems and bring about change. Design needs to play a leading role in this process, and strategies that utilise design thinking and methodologies to solve problems for social innovation are needed. In this context, we examined the importance of the convergence of design with other fields in ESG strategies and the role of design and content in realising sustainable social value. The discussion on the broader ESG concepts and directions in the field of design and content will need to continue in the future. While this report is limited in scope, we would like to highlight some of the practical approaches that design and content can take in terms of realising social value.

3. Design and content examples of successful ESG realisation

- Looking at the definition and background of ESG, we can divide ESG into the corporate management aspect for investment and the area of enhancing social value as a comprehensive concept. This chapter introduces design and content cases for realising sustainable social value by selecting representative cases that stand out in each area of ESG and analysing the success strategies of each case.

- The cases of sustainable value realisation design are analysed from three aspects: Environment, Social, and Governance. Through the analysis of the cases presented through a design-led approach in each ESG area, insights and directions for ESG strategies for sustainable design and content were sought.

4. ESG Strategies and Recommendations for Sustainable Design and Content (Strategies and Recommendations by Consumer Groups in the Industry)

- Based on the key insights of this report, we have proposed recommendations for ESG strategies for sustainable design and content. This provides hints on the required capabilities and utilisation strategies from the perspective of policy makers, design and content-led and oriented companies/design and content consultancies, designers/content creators, and students/educational institutions.

- In the conclusion, we propose the core values that we hope to convey through this issue report and emphasise that ESG should never be a one-off event. In order to improve social value, the governance system of governments and related organisations needs to be carefully managed so that sustainable social ESG can be realised by establishing mid- and long-term plans through design thinking. The active adoption of design thinking in the ESG system was emphasised as it helps to establish mid- to long-term visions and goals that resonate with citizens through interactions that consider social context and understanding of human psychology. Companies and institutions should go beyond using ESG as a metric for investment objectives and focus on consultation on sustainability that enhances social value based on design thinking.

The Flow, Social Innovation & Service Design Project 07/04/2024

'The FLOW'
Social Innovation & Service Design Project
Venue: Fulham Broadway, London UK
Period: 2018

[Background]
The first stage of this project was to concentrate on what
kind of communities exist in the Fulham Broadway station area. Through the field research, we noticed noteworthy communities: the Chelsea football fans community, with over 90,000 fans visiting here in a week, and the Veteran communities near the Stamford Bridge Stadium.

[Observation]
One of the crucial things is almost all veterans suffer from PTSD(Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) who have to feel to avoid a
crowded situation. For these reasons, some of the veterans struggle with football fans visiting. Nevertheless, these two different situations have coexisted over 100 years respectively. While we studied these two different communities, we realised that each group has its own situations that could synergise if the different motivations and resources are systemized.

[Purpose]
Our primary goal is to support the veterans who are suffering from PTSD by encouraging their talents and making a business
chance of creating more an education programme. (The flow team sketch, related images)

[Research/ Interview]
To do so, we interviewed people involved in each district and tried to find their real needs using Maxneef’s human-scale developments. Through the interview, we saw some of the significant issues about the veterans who are suffering from PTSD. Some veterans who dwell in the Stoll claim that the
most concerning issue is being isolated from society. They need the channel to communicate and be part of the social participants. According to the Schouten(2015) et al., the
PTSD can be relieved by engaging in social activities such as creating art. The veteran, John Grant, insists that he make pens
for expressing his feelings that give him moments to overcome his PTSD. (Interview images, research related images)
