W is enjoying a cup of summer treat - he smiles with a joyous and sweet smile.

It is lovely to see the spontaneous joy that little children experience as they are learning naturally and developing to the fullest of their potential during their Montessori work.

Summer is the time for a lot of outdoor play! Children love spending time in the school garden, playground and balcony. The heat, the summer breeze, the sound of birds and cicadas and so much more are all colorful sprinkles of their childhood lives.

Children are working together filling the compost to plant Sunflower seeds.

They filled the cups about ⅔ full and planted 2-3 seeds in each cup, then they pressed the seeds deeper into the soil before misting it with water.

The sprout should be coming up in about 1.5 to 2 weeks time, let’s hope all the seeds will germinate!

The two friends are working together on their Animal Research project - Lizard.
First they need to know the facts about different types of Lizards and their special skills, and then complete the questions on the factsheet.

J is working on creating the food map of where his food comes from in Korea. .

Our teacher integrated this food map with Montessori Culture works. While children learn about the map of Korea they also gain knowledge of what they eat, and it encourages them to make responsible, healthy and sustainable food choices.

Toddlers can bake!

Our Red Robin friends love hands-on baking sessions; they enjoy mixing, stirring, kneading and cutting.

Children do not need to be our assistants in the kitchen, as long as the pre-measured ingredients are prepared, we can sit back and observe the little hands do the rest of the work in the prepared environment.

J is working on the Hundred Board.

The hundred board teaches number sequences from 1 to 100 after children learn counting. It requires children to be patient and concentrate for a relatively long time in order to complete the Hundred Boards.

Montessori is a global community

Last week, we went to visit Konis’s sister school - Hand in Hand Christian Montessori Academy in Minnesota, US and shared information about Montessori education with each other.

During the Afterschool Montessori Elementary class, S made sentences with word cards and matched them with grammar symbols from the Verb grammar box.

The purpose of this work is for children to demonstrate their understanding of verbs and the function, including the verbs’ usage with the noun family( article, adjective and noun).
