Biomedical Research Club Students Explore Advanced Topics Through Scientific Research

🧬 Reading real scientific journals.
🎤 Sharing research with confidence.
💬 Discussing ideas and defending their logics

Students in the Biomedical Research Club explored topics such as Prime Editing, Brain Organoids, Apoptosis, and Bird Migration through independent research and presentations.

Through this project, students practiced how to read scientific literature, organize complex ideas, and communicate their findings clearly to an audience.

SSI student Seoyun Kong (G9) received an Honorable Mention in The New York Times Learning Network’s 2025–26 Local Lens Photo Essay Contest! 🎉

Her project, Between the Stones, explored the stories, memories, and cultural significance hidden within Jeju’s stone walls.

Out of more than 1,400 participants, Seoyun’s work was recognized for its thoughtful storytelling and unique perspective—proving that meaningful stories can be found in the most ordinary places.

The SSI Curling Club won the gold medal at the 2026 Seoul Mayor’s Cup! 🥇🥌

Competing against strong teams, including Newton Academy and SPPS, our students showcased outstanding teamwork, leadership, and resilience throughout the tournament.

One of the most unforgettable moments was an incredible 11:0 victory against SPPS — a true reflection of the team’s focus, preparation, and unity on the ice.
This achievement represents the hard work, trust, and team spirit our students continue to build both on and off the ice.

With a strong focus on teamwork over competition, diverse perspectives, and endless opportunities both on campus and in the city, Vanderbilt stood out as an inspiring choice for globally minded students. 🌍✨

Student-led, energy-filled, and unforgettable—SSI Sports Day brought students together through creative mini-games, exciting team competitions, and a fun raffle to wrap it all up. A day full of teamwork, laughter, and great memories!
