The 2026 K-pop & Beauty Study Tour officially came to an end last week, and we know many parents and students have been excited to see the students’ final performances and hear about their experiences throughout the journey.

During the 10-day program at Seokyeong University (SKU) in Seoul, South Korea, students participated in a variety of hands-on classes, including K-pop dance, makeup, skincare, color analysis, filming, editing, and fashion-related activities. Through these immersive experiences, students were able to explore Korean culture, university life, and the entertainment and beauty industries in a completely new way.

On Friday, May 8th, the Food Chemistry class enjoyed an exciting and educational field trip to the Anshun Salt Story House. Located in one of Taiwan’s historic salt-producing regions, the site gave students a hands-on opportunity to learn about the traditional process of salt production and the important role salt has played in Taiwan’s history. According to the museum’s historical information, the Anshun Salt Fields were first developed in 1919 and became an important center of Taiwan’s salt industry.

This year, the Junior High School English Teachers have renewed their shared commitment to strengthening a more active and supportive English environment on campus. With a more focused and consistent push, students are given more opportunities to use English in ways that feel meaningful, enjoyable, and connected to their daily lives.

The CIAMUN team of 12 delegates traveled to Taipei American School to engage with geopolitical development issues at their annual TASMUN conference. This 17th iteration of the conference focused on Sustainable Development Goals 4 and 8, education and economic growth, respectively. The weekend was fun and fruitful with many of our delegates drafting final resolutions to help solve global issues.

Here at CIS, mentorship is more than a system for checking attendance or managing discipline. While the lower grade levels follow the traditional homeroom structure, our high school students are guided through a mentorship program designed to build stronger relationships and provide meaningful personal support.
