머리가 자라났다. -에스더생각-

지난해 8월 유방암을 진단받고 수술하고 18차 항암이 떨어졌다. 이 때만 해도 우울 했지만 담담했다. 왜 나에게 이런 병이 생겼는지 생각 해 보며, 좀 쉬어가라고, 다시한번 인생을 돌아보고 반성하며, 내 몸에게 미안해 하며, 앞으로 잘 살아 보라고 ‘재부팅’이라고 명명도 해 보았다. 유쾌하게 나의 유방암을 이겨내는 병상일기를 써 가며 이겨 내자고 마음도 먹었었다. 하지만 2차 항암 시작 즈음부터 빠지기 시작한 머리는 일주일 못 되어 골룸머리처럼 되었다. 할 수 없이 남은 머리를 삭발했을 때 미용실 원장님은 울먹이며 결재하지 못하겠다고 카드를 받지 않고 버텼다. 담담히 삭발을 한 나는 울먹이는 원장님 때문에 눈물이 날 것 같아 더 이상 고집부리지 못하고 미용실을 빠져 나왔을 때의 참담함이란...이 때부터 교회도 나가지 않고 영상예배로 드렸다. 더 이상 병상일기를 쓰고 싶지도 않았다. 계속 병상일기를 써가면 꿋꿋한 모습을 보여 줬으면 얼마나 좋았겠냐마는 암이란 병이 죽음 담보로 하기에 죽음 앞에서 마구 유쾌할 수 만은 없었기 때문이다. 머리카락이 자라나면서 세상밖으로 조금씩 나오기 시작했다. 어제 14차 항암하러 입원했다. 내일 퇴원하면 오후에 센타에 들러 언어치료 수업을 하고 주일에는 아직 빡빡이머리로 성가대에서 소리도 고래고래 질러 볼 예정이다.
나의 자존감이 자라나듯 머리가 자라났다.
