​본원은 5월 진행될 FRQ 형식의 시험과 학사일정 준비를 위해 4월 중순부터 정상 운영하게 되었습니다.

수업 정상화 이후에도 학원에 손 소독제 및 물티슈 비치, 철저한 거리두기 수행, 마스크 착용을 의무화하여 코로나 확산 방지에 힘쓰도록 하겠습니다.

*** 다가오는 5월 AP 시험과 관련된 소식 ***

College Board에서는 최근 미국에서 확산 중인 COVID-19바이러스로 인해 2019-2020년 AP 시험에 대한 변경된 계획을 발표했습니다. AP시험은 다가오는 5월에 실시될 예정이지만 시험 내용과 시행에 큰 변화가 있습니다.

각각의 AP 시험에는 2번의 시험 날짜가 있으며, 정확한 날짜는 앞으로 몇 주 안에 발표될 거라 생각됩니다.

아래 내용은 주로 AP Biology시험에서 변경된 내용에 적어놨습니다.

실행

College Board는 AP 시험이 온라인으로 진행될 것이며 45분정도의 시험이 될 것이라고 발표했습니다. 이러한 정보로 보자면, 저희는 이 AP시험이 MCQ(객관식 문제)가 거의 없거나 아예 진행이 안 될 수도 있고, FRQ(주관식 문제)로만 AP시험이 진행될 시험이라 생각이 듭니다. 정확한 내용은 4월 3일에 발표될 예정입니다.

AP BIOLOGY시험 내용에 대한 변경 내용:

AP Biology시험에서 다룰 내용은 다음과 같습니다.

1. 생명의 화학(Chemistry of Life)
2. 세포 구조와 기능(Cell Structure and Function)
3. 세포 에너지학(Cellular Energetics)
4. 셀 커뮤니케이션과 셀 사이클(Cell Communication and Cell Cycle)
5. 유전(Heredity)
6. 유전자 표현과 규정(Gene Expression and Regulation)

2019~2020년 AP Bio시험에서 진화(Evolution)와 생태(Ecology) 내용은 포함되지 않습니다. 따라서, 저희 Aevo Prep Academy도 달라진 AP Bio시험에 따라 AP Biology수업 프로그램을 운영할 예정입니다.

시험 형식에 상관없이 학생들은 어떠한 시험을 보기 전에 해당 시험의 개념과 기초에 대해 이해하는 것이 제일 중요합니다. AP Biology의 주요 개념과 해당 내용의 연관성 등을 깊이 이해한다면, 학생들은 AP Bio시험의 형식이 달라졌다고 해도 좋은 점수를 받을 수 있다 생각합니다.

***NEWS REGARDING THE AP EXAMS***

The College Board has recently announced its plans for the 2019-2020 AP examinations amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in the U.S. The exams are set to take place but with heavy modifications to their content and implementation.

There will also be two dates available for each AP exam, and the exact dates will be announced in the coming weeks ahead.

This update primarily focuses on the changes to the AP Biology exam.

IMPLEMENTATION

The College Board has announced that the exam will be implemented online and that it will be a 45-minute exam. From this information, we suspect that the exam will be mostly Free Response Question based with very few or no MCQs. Alternatively, it is possible that the exam will be entirely MCQ with 30 questions instead of 60. The former seems to be more likely. The exact format will be announced on April 3rd.

CONTENT CHANGES TO THE AP BIOLOGY EXAM:

For the AP Biology exam, the units that will be covered are as follows:

1. Chemistry of Life
2. Cell Structure and Function
3. Cellular Energetics
4. Cell Communication and Cell Cycle
5. Heredity
6. Gene Expression and Regulation

Evolution and Ecology will not be tested on the 2019-2020 AP Biology exam. Therefore, Aevo Prep will begin refocusing its preparatory program to meet these changes in the coming weeks.

Regardless of format, it is critical that students recognize the importance of understanding the concepts and fundamentals prior to taking any exam. With a deep understanding biology's main ideas and their connections, students should be able to achieve great success even in the face of uncertainties.
