We’ve already held three rounds of auditions for our teams. We’ve seen a wide range of talent. Those in charge of our DI teams, are accommodating and graceful and are willing to give another chance to hopefuls to show their worth. You may request an additional evaluation day. Contact us for more info.
And if you weren’t aware yet, in our first try in our first year we got two awards and went straight to the Global Finals. If you think you can perform on stage and think creatively, you’re free to petition for another round of auditions. We’ll see which team you can be added to. You’re also free to invite your friends and acquaintances. The more the merrier. We’ll evaluate and see if we can develop more teams if you invite enough of the right people so go and spread the word.
Orientation for admitted students of rounds 1-3 will be held tomorrow after school. Join our Kakaogroup or other forms of communication to get more information. Norms, expectations and the like will be discussed. This meeting is mandatory.

Note: As this newsletter should be addressing parents/guardians, we will forego simplistic language and will utilize vocabulary more fitting for an adult audience. Do not expect unsophisticated terms. For an easier-to-read version of this writing, contact the necessary officials, the school, etc.
Reminder: the general education courses typically hold one major test every week. Topics and subject matter are always addressed at LEAST one week before.
Upper Elementary School Only:
Social studies and science progress appear to be on track, and ahead compared to other institutions. Specific zones, economic regions, general divisions and the like will be discussed in the upcoming weeks. Vocabulary quizzes are on Tuesday and vocabulary tests are on Friday. So far this month, we’ve had two vocabulary quizzes and one vocabulary test.
High School Only:
History vocabulary exams are on Tuesday and general vocabulary exams are on Wednesday. Preparations should be made for Google’s next science fair.
General:
Ten school days remain for the month of November. Two United States geography tests were administered. If your child failed to notify you of his/her scores, you may request them individually. For more information on upcoming exams, you are free to inquire the necessary instructors.
The implementation of typing practice, in-class writing and other academic sites has gelled well with our students. We’ve been working up their intellectual appetites and they have been able to develop their skills in a wide range of subjects. Our students have gotten familiar with Khan Academy, Crash Course, academic Youtubers, Freerice, and other academic resources. If you would like to have your child be given the opportunity for more growth, you’re free to request as such. Heavier workloads and site links will be provided if necessary and able.
In-class work and homework for i3 PREP core subjects are weighted differently from outsourced subjects. As these cores are required for graduation and recommendation, parents are strongly suggested to remind their children to be diligent in and out of class. We have high expectations on our students but do not overburden them with work. Homework is intended to intensify learning, develop discipline and be its own reward. If you child is having difficulty in completing work, let your instructor know.
Upcoming Activities (3):
Jeopardy (TBD), Spelling Bee Prep, and In-Class Graded Essay (Exam Weight).
Keep in mind:
Associated programs such as D4L, Saturday BSA class, Destination Imagination teams, etc. are extracurricular and/or important to in-class behavior and grades. Reprimands have already been given to those that have been tardy, missing or been lacking motivation. If you are not sure how your child is doing up to this point, please contact us.

DI Auditions! ^^
This Saturday, on 11/11 at 11AM, i3 PREP International School will be hosting auditions for Destination Imagination. Not for the organization itself, obviously, but we will be holding auditions for our teams to compete at DI. We will be evaluating candidates for creativity, productivity, adaptability, team chemistry, and leadership, among other things. What’s important to know, before continuing reading, are as follows:
-We are looking for talented, driven, unique voices from elementary to high school. We intend on taking a few teams to Singapore and hopefully, all of them to the Global Finals.
-We intend on going to DI’s annual Global Finals competition. As such, all committed team members are expected to devote a large portion of time, post-auditions to qualifying competition day in Singapore in April. And after the competition in Singapore, we will have to prepare for the time zone change, etc. in America.
-Besides commitment, dedication and talent, parents are also expected to support their children. Parents are an integral support structure in DI, and if there will be issues later on, parents should let us know beforehand.
-Constructing, sets, props, costumes requires tools, materials and skill with… well… making. All members are expected to contribute equally.
The qualifying round for our school will be held in Singapore. While we are obviously a South Korean school, we will be one of the specially hosted international teams. Our performances will be in English, which dictates that our school be judged fairly by going to a nation that generally accepts the English language. As we will be going overseas, those with an inability to fly or otherwise, will not be able to go to the tournament. Please keep this in mind.
As we will be specially hosted at Singapore’s DI competition, parent(s)/guardian(s) should also keep in mind that i3 PREP International School will not be taking on the costs that will occur for airplane fare, hotel stay, package tour(s), etc. Fees and international will have to be taken care of individually. i3 PREP is providing the ability to attend such a unique event, nothing more. i3 PREP intends on using the competition also as an opportunity for a culture excursion. After discussion and planning, we will be able to immerse ourselves in the culture of Singapore. In other words, instead of only spending our time for competition, if there is a significant number of people interested, we will be able to do a few activities and sightseeing while there.
And with all that out of the way, we have a few days left until the auditions! We wish good luck to all that will go to the try-outs. To all DI hopefuls: do your best!
If you are completely unfamiliar with DI, go to destinationimagination.org for more information on the competition.
Email us if you have any questions or would like to request an additional audition day.
