IC hosted the 2023 Art & Technology Contest on July 14th. It was operated by the Department of "Film and Visual Effects." Professor Humphal, Yoon, and Cho thanked everyone who participated in the 2023 Art and Technology Contest.

On March 11, 2023, Dongseo University announced a video clip contest for students of Petra Christian University (PCU) to
showcase their impressions of Busan and Dongseo University. The contest aimed at encouraging students to creatively capture
their unique experiences and future expectations of living and studying in Busan. We thank all the participants for their contributions and are happy to announce the winning students from PCU.

Judging Criteria:

The judging was based on the amount of likes and views the video received on TikTok. Creativity was also judged by a panel of professors and students from Dongseo University. The video with the highest number of likes and views will be declared the winner.

2023 Spring Closing Ceremony

International College held a Closing Ceremony at Sohyang Art Hall on June 21st (Wednesday) to celebrate the completion of courses and to mark the end of the 2023 spring semester.

International College held the '2023 International Day on May 17th, in the lobby of the IC Building and in the outdoor space. Approximately 300 students and professors participated in events such as International Food, International Culture, campus busking, flea market, and table soccer tournament, enjoying the time together. https://www.dongseo.ac.kr/kr/?pCode=MN2000192&mode=view&idx=92515

At the International Food booth, students from Vietnam and China made and sold their country's food, and Korean students from the Dongseo Global English Program ran a gimbap-making experience booth, making it a great success.

The International Culture booth, where one could experience K-beauty makeup, learn makeup techniques, and experience Korean culture such as making "Dalgona" and fans.

Students from the photography club held a photo exhibition on the theme of "Beautiful Busan", and a table soccer tournament (Foosball) was also held. Campus busking, where students could sing or play instruments on the spot, and a flea market where used goods or clothes could be bought and sold also provided pleasant enjoyment for the students.

Congratulations to the winner of the 2023 International Day Foosball King Tournament, Martynas Orentas from Lithuania. In this 23-man tournament, he had a very close final-round match against Linas Kurtinaitis also from Lithuania.

The 40th Busan International Short Film Festival(BISFF) (https://www.bisff.org/eng/) was held in Busan from April 25th to May 1st.

International College is proud to announce that the film of the Film and Visual Effects student "Qin Qishu" was selected for the section, "Hub of Asia" with the theme of "The Death of Cinema(s)". The title of her piece is "Love of Cinema".

On Friday, April 28th, Professor Mary O'Neil was a special guest at the International College's Regional Development and Cultural Planning class. In this class, she gave a wonderful lecture about how Busan can attract and keep young people through the development of a smart, happy, and sustainable city.

Welcoming Ceremony for the Spring Semester, 2023

On March 10th (Friday), International College held a Welcoming Ceremony at Sohyang Art Hall to welcome international students and celebrate the start of the 2023 spring semester. Approximately 450 people attended from the Campus Asia Department, Business Administration Major, Computer Science Department, Game Development, Animation&VFX, Film&VFX Major, Digital Media Design, and the Dongseo Global English Program. Messages of welcome and congratulations were shared with the new students. Additionally, 47 students from Shanghai University of Engineering Science's joint education program with the College of Design were also present.
