소리가 공간을 가로질러 이동하며 어딘가에 가닿는 과정을 떠올려보면, 소리는 이미 하나의 움직임이기도 하다. 우리는 소리를 부피감과 운동성을 지닌 물리적인 파동으로 감각하며, 소리와 함께 춤추는 다양한 방식을 실험한다. 이 과정에서 목소리, 악기 연주, 음악 작품, 그리고 일상의 소리 풍경 등 다양한 소리의 영역을 경유하며, 소리가 몸의 내부에서부터 공간 전체에 이르기까지 어떻게 이동하고 변화를 만들어내는지를 섬세하게 감각한다. 그리고 소리의 중력에 깨어난 몸이 다른 몸과 함께 춤출 때, 소리가 제3의 파트너로서 관계와 방향성을 어떻게 생성하는지에 대해서도 함께 연습하고 탐구한다.
이 레지던시는 컨택즉흥에 대한 연구와 탐구를 중심에 두고 있으며, 듣기, 반응성, 그리고 자발적인 창조성을 길러내는 다양한 즉흥적 접근들과 함께합니다.
When we imagine sound traveling across space and arriving somewhere, we can already recognize sound as a form of movement. We sense sound as physical waves with mass and motion, and we experiment with multiple ways of dancing with sound. throughout the process we move through different sonic territories — including voice, instrumental playing, composed music, and everyday soundscapes — and sensitively attune to how sound moves and generates change across the body’s interior and the surrounding space. We also practice and explore how sound becomes a third partner that shapes relationships and generates directions when bodies, awakened to the gravity of sound, dance together.
The residency’s central orientation is toward studying and inquiring into Contact Improvisation, while engaging with various approaches to improvisation that cultivate listening, responsiveness, and spontaneous creativity.
