A sneak peek of the Grade 5 PYP Exhibition (PYPX) taking place today and tomorrow on campus.
This exhibition is the culmination of months of dedicated inquiry, research, interviews, synthesis, and creative collaboration. Our students have explored global issues and brought them into the classroom in meaningful, relevant, and accessible ways, preparing to share their learning with the wider community.
At ISB, the PYPX reflects the heart of our IB PYP programme and guiding statements, with students demonstrating agency, critical thinking, and a growing sense of responsibility as global citizens.
We are incredibly proud of the effort, curiosity, and confidence our Grade 5 students have shown throughout this journey. Parents will experience the full exhibition tomorrow, so we will not give too much away just yet. Watch this space.

This month - The Month of the Military Child - we recognise and celebrate our military-connected students and the resilience they show through constant change, transition, and service within their families.
Our school is home to many military families, and we value the strength, adaptability, and global perspective they bring to our community.
We were honoured to welcome CFAC Commanding Officer CDR Lawrence E Schaffer, CFAC Executive Officer CDR Paul Gillett and Ms. LaChelle - Acting CNRK School Liaison, from US Navy Jinhee, who joined us to recognise our military children with a small gesture of appreciation - delicious cupcakes shared in their honour. This is a tradition that takes place every year at ISB.
While simple, the moment carried real meaning for our entire community. It was a chance to acknowledge the unique experiences and quiet sacrifices of military-connected students and their families, and to reaffirm that they are seen, valued, and supported as an important part of our ISB community.

Living Library at ISB: Stories That Go Beyond the Cover 📚
As part of Book Week, ISB was proud to host a special Living Library experience for students in Grades 6, 7, and 8.
With 10 volunteer “books” and around 70 students taking part, the event invited students to step beyond assumptions and engage with the real stories, perspectives, and experiences that shape who we are. Each “book” prepared a ten-minute story, offering students the chance to listen, reflect, and connect in a meaningful way.
At ISB, we want students to understand that people are never defined by just one label. Behind every role or title is a unique human story, shaped by values, challenges, identity, and lived experience. Events like the Living Library help nurture empathy, curiosity, open-mindedness, and the confidence to engage more deeply with others.
It was wonderful to see students so animated afterwards, sharing what they had heard and continuing the conversations well beyond the session itself. This is exactly the kind of authentic, values-driven learning that helps our students grow as caring, reflective, and internationally minded young people.
A very special thank you to Ms Buchanan, our MHS Librarian, for organising this impactful event, and to all of our volunteer “books” for the honesty, courage, and generosity they brought in sharing their stories.

ES Basketball House Games in Action! 🏀
Our Elementary students took to the court this week for the ES Basketball House Team matches - bringing energy, enthusiasm, and incredible team spirit to every game. Oh, and FUN!!
These matches are an opportunity for students to build teamwork, develop communication skills, and experience healthy, respectful competition in a supportive environment. From quick passes to encouraging teammates on the sidelines, every moment reflected the values we nurture at ISB.
We also know that movement matters. Through sport, students are not only developing physical skills but also strengthening their focus, confidence, and overall wellbeing. At ISB, we believe in movement as a fundamental element of holistic education - supporting healthy, balanced learners who are ready to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
A fantastic effort from all of our players, well done to every House and thanks to our teachers for their support in organizing!
