Hi all,
Just wanted to let everyone know that we offer sailing lessons in English out of the marina in haeundae / marine city!
I just got back from vacation, so I haven't updated the schedule yet, but basically we have lessons available:
- Weekday afternoons from 2pm to 6pm
- Friday we also morning lessons from 8 to 12 or 9 to 1, depending on your preferences
- this fall we will offer lessons on weekends, contact us if you have a day you would like to come
- if there is enough demand, we can have classes during the chuseok break as well!
To run a class we need at least 2 students, and of course classes will only go ahead if the weather conditions are OK!

Happy Monday Busan!

If you are interested in seeing some sailing, this coming weekend (April 28, 29 and 30) is the Busan SuperCup Yacht Race. The race course will be somewhere between Igidae and Haeundae, depending on the wind. The best place to get a view from is probably the end of Dongbaek or near the APEC Nuri Maru building. There will be about 30 yachts out there, ranging in size from 25ft all the way up to 63ft.

If you want to try a sailing lesson, but you are waiting until summer, don’t wait! We are only offering classes until mid-June, then we are off for the summer (until early September).

If you work evenings, we have morning sessions available as well, specifically the mornings of Friday, May 5th (National Holiday), Monday May 15th, Friday May 19th, Tuesday June 6th (National Holiday).

Other than that we have plenty of afternoon dates available.

Hello future sailors,

If you want to learn to sail you've found the right place!

The boat we use is an "Open 5.7" (cuz it's 5.7m long), a sports boat. Scroll down our posts for a couple pics and vids. More info about this type of boat can be found in these articles. TLDR: Here's the best quote "this boat looks capable of producing speed smiles in almost any conditions" :)

Sailing classes:
1. All classes are dependent on weather conditions. No wind means no sailing, too much wind means no sailing.
2. To run a class, we need the instructor plus 2 or 3 people. (You can sign up as a group, or if you let us know your availability, we can try to match you up with someone else if you are alone).
3. Over a number of classes, you will learn about handling the jib sail, the main sail, the helm and the asymmetrical. You will also learn a few useful knots as well as the "rules of the road".
4. Each class session will last approximately 4 hours, including setting up and cleaning up. Generally that means about 3 hours out on the water (a little less in the first session, we need to cover some safety basics before heading out).

Special Introductory Pricing:
One 4-hour session:
- for 2 people: 120.000won
- for 3 people: 150.000won

Class availability:
- most weekdays from 2pm to 6pm (as the days get longer, that can get pushed back a bit, but we want to be back before dark)
- most Fridays anytime
- a few weekends, we will post specific availability based on our schedules.
