👋 Hello Everyone!
This post is especially for the students studying at Ajou Motor College, as well as all international students currently studying in Korea.
Many students have heard of TOPIK, but not everyone knows about KIIP (Korea Immigration & Integration Program). If you’re planning to stay in Korea long-term, work here, or even change your visa status in the future, then this is something you should definitely know about!
Most people think that having a TOPIK certificate is enough. While TOPIK is very useful, KIIP offers even more benefits for those who plan to build their future in Korea.
📖 What is TOPIK?
✅ TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) is a Korean language proficiency test.
✅ It is widely used when applying for:
* Universities
* Scholarships
* Jobs
✅ TOPIK consists of:
* TOPIK I (Level 1–2)
* TOPIK II (Level 3–6)
✅ One important thing to remember is that a TOPIK certificate is only valid for 2 years, so you’ll need to take the exam again once it expires.
🤔 So, what is KIIP?
KIIP (Korea Immigration & Integration Program) is a program organized by the Korean Ministry of Justice.
Rather than focusing only on the Korean language, KIIP also teaches international residents about:
✅ Korean laws
✅ Daily life in Korea
✅ Korean culture and society
✅ Rules and regulations that foreigners should know while living in Korea
This helps international students and residents better understand Korean society and prepare for long-term life in Korea.
🌟 Why should you choose KIIP?
✅ It is one of the most helpful programs for those planning to apply for:
* F-2 Visa
* F-5 Permanent Residency
* Korean Citizenship
✅ KIIP has Level 0 to Level 5.
* If you want to start from the beginning, you can study from Level 0 and move up step by step after passing each level.
* If you already have Korean language skills, you can take the Pre-Evaluation Test (사전평가) and enter directly into Level 1–4, depending on your results.
✅ After completing Level 4, you must take the Mid-Term Evaluation (중간평가).
If you score 60 points or above, you can continue to Level 5.
After completing Level 5 (70 hours), you can take the Final Evaluation (종합평가).
🎉 The best part?
The KIIP Completion Certificate is valid for a lifetime.
This is one of the biggest reasons why we highly recommend KIIP over relying only on TOPIK.
✅ If you already have a TOPIK certificate, you don’t have to start KIIP from Level 0.
Depending on your TOPIK level, you can skip certain KIIP levels and start at a higher level.
✅ Students who successfully complete the Final Evaluation can use the certificate when applying for an F-5 Permanent Residency Visa.
Those who wish to apply for Korean citizenship can continue with the additional 30-hour Advanced Course (심화과정) and take the Naturalization Comprehensive Evaluation (귀화용 종합평가) before applying for citizenship.
Normally, students need to register through the KIIP website during the application period and travel to designated cities to take placement tests or examinations.
🚨 Special Opportunity for Ajou Motor College Students 🚨
This time, Ajou Motor College students have a great opportunity to join the KIIP program right here on campus without having to travel to another city.
Opportunities like this don’t come often, so I really encourage everyone to take advantage of it. I’ll be joining the program too! 😊
If you already have a TOPIK certificate, you can enter the appropriate KIIP level according to the placement chart instead of starting from the beginning.
📌 Students who wish to register for KIIP are kindly requested to submit the required documents to the AMC International Department (Second Floor) by today.
Thank you! 🇰🇷✨
