Hello, this is the Lab of Information Systems Security and Assurance (LISA)! 😊

On October 14 (Tue), 2025, our lab welcomed representatives from Khan Bank in Mongolia for a visit and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in the fields of cybersecurity and digital innovation. 🇲🇳

This visit marked an important step in fostering international collaboration for digital transformation and security capacity building in the financial sector. Going forward, Soonchunhyang University and Khan Bank will work closely together on cybersecurity training, technical exchange, and data protection research.

During the visit, we also delivered a special lecture introducing the best talent in financial sector specially in banks.

Although it was a short visit, it provided a meaningful opportunity to share visions and explore the potential for future joint research and educational programs.

On August 25, at the Soyol Hall of the University of Internal Affairs (UIA), the LISA Laboratory of Soonchunhyang University and the R&BD Center for Security and Safety Industries, with the support of UIA, will organize the "International Workshop & Conference for Global Cybersecurity Partnerships 2025".

The event will begin at 10:00 AM, and we kindly invite those who wish to participate to arrive on time. Lunch will also be provided for participants.

The purpose of this event is to discuss international strategies in cybersecurity, as well as explore collaborative projects and workforce development models that can be implemented at the local level. Representatives from organizations such as MUST (Mongolian University of Science and Technology), UIA, NPA Mongolia, and Bluenetworks Co., Ltd (South Korea) will deliver presentations, ensuring the event will be highly engaging and fruitful.

The Demo is a warm-up event that encourages innovative solutions for real-time (or near real-time) detection of abnormal events in modern vehicles. The organizers will bring test devices from Korea and set up a testbed environment where teams can build and showcase prototypes/demos. Transporting the testbeds to Mongolia is challenging, but we’ll do our best to make it happen.

From June 10 (Tue) to June 13 (Fri), 2025, our lab had the honor of participating as a problem-setting and operations partner in BrainHack 2025, an international cybersecurity competition hosted by the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) of Singapore! 🇸🇬🔐
The competition was organized by DSTA, a government agency specializing in defense technology, and **LISA Lab**, together with the **RedAlert Team**, was responsible for Designing and structuring the challenges, technical validation and testing, providing problem briefings and on-site support for participants.
For this event, LISA members **developed a real vehicle-based testbed platform**, enabling hands-on challenges rooted in **realistic in-vehicle threat scenarios**
Rather than testing theoretical knowledge, the challenges required participants to **understand in-vehicle network threat models** and apply advanced skills like **reverse engineering, packet manipulation, and injection attacks** to solve practical cybersecurity problems. 🧑🏽‍💻👩🏼‍💻

Through this opportunity, LISA further solidified its global presence in **automotive and mobility security**. We will continue to contribute to the development of **practical, hands-on training content**

and **advanced threat response technologies** in collaboration with international security agencies and industry partners

첫눈이 설렘을 안겨 주던 작년 11월 28일, 순천향대학교 미래융합캠퍼스에서 2024 모빌리티 사이버보안 산학워크숍을 개최했습니다. UNECE WP.29의 UNR 155·156과 ISO/SAE 21434 등 글로벌 규제 도입이 가속화되면서 차량의 신뢰성·안전성 확보에 대한 보안 검증 수요가 급증하고, 산업계 역시 자동차 사이버보안 규제 대응과 자율주행 보편화에 따른 위기 대응력 강화를 위해 전문 인력과 상호 기술 교류를 절실히 요구하고 있습니다. 이러한 흐름 속에서 신흥·중견 자동차 보안 핵심인재 양성을 위한 산학협력 교육훈련 체계를 구축하고, 수도권과 지역 소재 기업 간 기술 협업과 정보 공유의 통로를 마련하고자 이번 행사를 기획했습니다.

본 워크숍은 순천향대학교 모빌리티보안컨소시엄과 한국자동차공학회 사이버보안연구회가 공동 주최하고 융합보안대학원이 후원했으며, 현대자동차·현대모비스·KG모빌리티·LG오토모티브·삼성전자·아우토크립트·김앤장·파이코드·페스카로·오토노머스에이투지·HCT·블루네트웍스 등 50여 개 기업이 참여해 산학 연계를 강화했습니다. 저녁 만찬에서는 미래 스마트 모빌리티 보안 생태계 조성을 위한 연구 개발 로드맵과 실증 협력 방안을 자유롭게 논의하며 협력 네트워크를 굳건히 다졌습니다.

On 28 November 2024, under the season’s first snowfall, we hosted the “2024 Mobility Convergence Security Workshop: Current Status of Automotive Cybersecurity Governance and Evaluation Technologies” at Soonchunhyang University.👏👏👏

Against the backdrop of rapidly advancing global regulations—such as UNECE WP.29 UNR 155/156 and ISO/SAE 21434—demand for robust security verification and compliance strategies is soaring across the automotive industry. Our workshop was therefore organized to build an educational and technical collaboration framework that nurtures cyber-secure mobility talents and fosters information exchange between metropolitan and regional companies

Jointly hosted by the Soonchunhyang University Mobility Security Consortium and the Cybersecurity Research Group of the Korean Society of Automotive Engineers, and supported by the Graduate School of Convergence Security, the event brought together experts from over fifty leading companies—including Hyundai Motor Company, Hyundai Mobis, KG Mobility, LG Automotive, Samsung Electronics, AUTOCRYPT, Kim & Chang, Pycode, PESCARO, Autonomous A2Z, HCT, and Blue Networks—strengthening the industry-academia nexus. A convivial dinner rounded off each day, allowing participants to explore collaborative roadmaps for a safer smart-mobility ecosystem.✨

After the workshop, we had a wonderful time during the following dinner, where our esteemed guests freely discussed and exchanged ideas about the future of automotive security in a serene atmosphere.

One of the major highlights of my recent trip to Mongolia was hosting the International Cybersecurity Partnership Workshop in Ulaanbaatar—the opening chapter of a bold new era of international cooperation on 14 August 2024. 🎉 We welcomed 102 participants and 11 speakers representing companies in industrial area—Mongolian National Police Agency, Khan Bank, Golomt Bank, Infocert LLC, and DHH Law Mongolia—and leading academic institutions: University of Internal Affairs, Mongolia, Soonchunhyang University, Mongolian University of Science and Technology, Empasoft Institute of Technology, Mongolian University and the Mongolian University of Finance and Economics. Together, we shared the latest advances in information security and explored new avenues for collaboration. Espiacally, threat‑intelligence trends, banking‑sector defence strategies, AI‑driven threat‑detection, and legal‑regulatory responses. Lively discussions forged plans for follow‑up joint research, internships, and exchange programmes that unite industry, academia, and public‑sector experts.

In an era of ever‑more sophisticated cyber threats, the workshop reaffirmed that cross‑border cooperation is our strongest defence. Building on this momentum, we believe we can move ahead with joint papers and projects, vulnerability‑analysis training initiatives, and a global CTF hackathon with more confidence.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the company representatives, university partners, and especially the Internal Affairs University of Mongolia for the generous venue and to our co‑host Empasoft Institute of Technology.

💡 This is only the beginning of something greater, and we are confident that we’ll gather again later this year to launch the next chapter of this journey.

🚀 Taking a Giant Leap Forward with Corporate Collaboration!

Over the past months we wrapped up a large‑scale project, tackled all the follow‑up work, and jumped straight into preparing our next proposal—leaving little time for social media updates.
Thanks for bearing with us. We will share our moments much more regularly from now on.

Although the schedule was last year, it was too meaningful not to share.

From August 12 to August 18, 2024, our team at Lisa had the pleasure of meeting with several key organizations in Mongolia, including Khan Bank, Golomt Bank, TESO Group, Empasoft Institute of Technology, ICT Group Mongolia, National Police Agency, and DHH Law Mongolia, along with Tsogtgerel Odon(Parliament member of Mongolia) to discuss ways the Republic of Korea and Mongolia can grow together.

This meeting was a significant opportunity to discuss not only information security and cybersecurity but also the potential for international collaboration across the entire IT sector. Together with experts from these companies, we shared the challenges currently facing the IT industry and explored various approaches to overcome them.

Furthermore, through these discussions, we sought sustainable international collaboration strategies and explored the potential for joint research and project initiatives. By working with these partners, our lab aims to share even more innovative results and deliver practical, real‑world solutions across IT and information security.

이틀간 진행되는 이번 #해커톤에서는 차량 내부 네트워크를 분석하고 차량 내부 네트워크 비정상 이벤트를 탐지하는 SW를 제작하게 됩니다.

🔧 **LISAthon 2024: Mobility Hackathon & Workshop** 🔧

Take on the challenge of developing software to detect malicious activities within a vehicle's internal network!

Hello! The **System Security Lab (LISA)** at Soonchunhyang University's Department of Information Security is hosting the **Vehicle Internal Network Security Hackathon**.

This two-day will focus on analyzing in-vehicle networks and developing software to detect abnormal events within these networks.

“Can I really work on vehicle security?” Don’t worry!

Through **basic training sessions for participants**, even those with no prior knowledge can build a solid foundation from the ground up.

During the competition, all participants will be provided with hotel accommodations, ensuring a comfortable and focused environment for tackling the challenges. Additionally, outstanding performers will be rewarded with amazing prizes, so don’t miss out!

[참가 대상]

- 중고등학생, 대학(원)생 및 일반인 (기업체) - 최대 3인으로 팀 구성

[대회 목표]

- 제공된 데이터셋 분석을 통해 차량 기능 구별 및 비정상 이벤트 탐지
- 차량 A에서 탐지된 비정상 이벤트 발생 시간을 분석한 뒤 차량 B용 테스트베드에 데이터셋을 주입하여 이전에 차량 A에서 탐지했던 시나리오를 시연
- 참가자들의 조건부 주입 및 실시간 데이터 처리 기술 구현 능력 향상

- (최우수상) 드론 DJI Mini 4 Pro - 1팀 (100만원 상당)
- ( 우수상 ) AI 로봇 LUNA – 1팀 (60만원 상당)

✨ Cyber Security 101 ✨

안녕하세요. 리사입니다.

2024년, 올해 초에는 뭉흐 박사과정과 푸레브바타르 석사과정이 우리 연구실을 대표로 필리핀 세부에 위치해 있는 📌University of San Carlos에서 정보보호 교육을 진행하였습니다🤗

본 교육은 ‘Cyber Security 101’이라는 제목으로 필리핀의 정보보호 역량을 강화하기 위해 마련된 특별 프로그램으로써, 산 카를로스 대학의 60명 학생들을 대상으로 주요 이슈들을 함께 논의하고, 서로 배우며 함께 성장하기 위해 진행되었습니다. 교육은 총 일주일간에 걸쳐 진행되었으며, 학생들은 정보보호 기초부터 실습 중심의 사이버 보안 기술까지 폭넓게 학습할 수 있는 기회를 가졌습니다.

교육이 끝난 후, 마지막 날에는 이번 교육을 통해 배운 정보보호 기초지식을 바탕으로 경진대회를 진행하여 1등부터 3등까지의 학생들에게는 상장과 함께 상품이 수여되었으며, 교육 프로그램에 참여한 모든 학생들에게는 수료증을 전달하였습니다🏆

이번 세부 정보보호 교육 프로그램을 통해 학생들은 정보보호의 기초를 다질 수 있었으며, 실무적인 보안 기술까지 폭넓은 지식을 습득할 수 있었습니다. 이번 교육은 단순한 지식 전달을 넘어, 국제적인 정보보호 협력과 네트워킹을 강화하는 중요한 계기가 되었으며, 앞으로 저희 리사 연구실은 이러한 협력을 바탕으로 정보보호 분야에서의 국제적 역량 강화를 위해 노력하겠습니다. 또한, 사이버 보안 교육과 같은 행사들을 통해 저희 연구실이 그동안 진행해 온 다양한 과제들을 기반으로, 사이버 보안에 대한 경험과 지식을 적극적으로 나누겠습니다. ☺

✨ Cyber Security 101 ✨

Hello, we’re LISA!

Earlier this year, in 2024, PhD student Munkh and Master’s student Purevbaatar, conducted an “Information Security 101” program at University of San Carlos in Cebu, Philippines.🤗
The training, titled "Cyber Security 101," was a special program designed to strengthen the cybersecurity capabilities of the Philippines. It was conducted for 60 students at the University of San Carlos, with the aim of discussing key issues together, learning from one another, and growing together. The training was held for seven days, providing students with a comprehensive learning experience covering everything from the basics of information security to hands-on cybersecurity techniques.

On the final day, we held a competition where students applied the fundamental knowledge they learned throughout the week. The top three students were awarded certificates and prizes, and every participant received a certificate of completion 🏆.

Through this Cebu Information Security Training program, students were able to build a strong foundation in information security and gain practical knowledge in security technologies. Beyond simply delivering knowledge, this program served as an important opportunity to enhance international cooperation and networking in the field of information security. Our LISA Lab is committed to furthering international capabilities in this field by continuing to foster such collaborations. We are also committed to sharing our experiences and knowledge from various projects through events like this cybersecurity training program ☺.
