🎨🦜 NISS Art Students Bring Nevis' Wildlife to Life! 🌿

What an amazing way to end to the school year! Today, our talented Art students assisted with painting wildlife models at the Nevis Peak Interpretation Centre as part of an exciting initiative by the Department of the Environment and Taiwan ICDF.

Using reference photographs, students carefully recreated the colours and features of animals found right here on Nevis, ensuring each model was as realistic as possible. Their work included local birds, bats, frogs, lizards, and mongooses, combining creativity with environmental education and conservation.

In addition to learning about Nevis’ biodiversity and natural history, students also learnt about the 3D printing technology behind the creation of the models.

We are SO proud of our students for using their artistic talents to support a project that celebrates and preserves Nevis' rich biodiversity. Well done to everyone involved!

🌟 Valedictorian Spotlight: Jahzara Davis-Nisbett 🌟

Dedication. Determination. Excellence. Three words that embody the spirit of NISS Class of 2026 Valedictorian, Ms Jahzara Davis-Nisbett. Since entering Nevis International Secondary School in 2021 as a Form 1 student, Jahzara has consistently ranked at the top of her class, retaining a spot on the NISS Honour Roll.

Jahzara has already earned five CXC CSEC subjects and two CCSLC subjects, along with special certification in Mandarin through the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL).

Passionate about Computer Science and Coding, she has participated in Reach Me's "Technovation Girls Coding Programme", represented NISS on the STEM Team, and competed successfully in numerous academic competitions. She was a member of Team NISS, placing 1st place at the Interschool Spelling Bee and 2nd in the Federation at the Regional School Stock Market Competition. She is also a talented Steel Pan player who has contributed to many school events.

Jahzara plans to pursue a degree in Computer Science and hopes to become a professional coder and game developer.

Congratulations, Jahzara, on this outstanding achievement. Your hard work, determination, and excellence continue to inspire us all!
