Dedication. Determination. Excellence. Three words that embody the spirit of NISS Class of 2026 Valedictorian, Ms Jahzara Davis-Nisbett. Since entering Nevis International Secondary School in 2021 as a Form 1 student, Jahzara has consistently ranked at the top of her class, retaining a spot on the NISS Honour Roll.

Jahzara has already earned five CXC CSEC subjects and two CCSLC subjects, along with special certification in Mandarin through the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL).

Passionate about Computer Science and Coding, she has participated in Reach Me's "Technovation Girls Coding Programme", represented NISS on the STEM Team, and competed successfully in numerous academic competitions. She was a member of Team NISS, placing 1st place at the Interschool Spelling Bee and 2nd in the Federation at the Regional School Stock Market Competition. She is also a talented Steel Pan player who has contributed to many school events.

Jahzara plans to pursue a degree in Computer Science and hopes to become a professional coder and game developer.

Happy Saturday, NISS! As we head into the last few weeks of the Term, take a look at the highlights of Midterm Project Week 2026!

Project Week is an important part of the NISS academic calendar. It provides students with opportunities to move beyond traditional classroom learning and engage in exciting hands-on experiences. Through research, group collaboration, design and presentation, students demonstrated creativity, practical learning and critical thinking skills across a wide range of subjects.

From STEM Models to Spanish Travel Brochures to artistic creations, our students showcased not only what they have learned, but also how they can apply that knowledge in practical and imaginative ways.

At NISS, we believe that project-based learning empowers students to become active learners, encourages curiosity, builds confidence, and helps develop the real-world skills needed for future success.

We are proud of the effort, enthusiasm, and creativity displayed by our students and grateful to our teachers for guiding and supporting them throughout the process.

Friday Flashback - STEM Week 2026 🌟🔬

Happy Friday! Today we're proud to feature Form 3 student Abigael Syondia! Abigael represented NISS at the recently concluded 2026 STEM Week Symposium.

Abigael is an aspiring nurse and an honour roll student with a passion for the Sciences. In 2025, she participated in the Medical University of the Americas Medical School Immersion Programme. Abigael's dedication to academic excellence and innovation continues to make our school proud.

NISS participates in Stem Week 2026 Symposium Hear from Form 3 NISS student, Abigael Syondia, as she shares her reflections on the importance of STEM Education and skills of the future.

NISS Student Debates Reparations at Youth Parliament 🇰🇳

We are extending congratulations to Form 4 student, Kayla Mendonca, for her participation in the Youth Parliament Mock Sitting of the Nevis Island Assembly that took place yesterday, 26th May 2026.

In collaboration with The Repair Campaign, the youth parliamentarians engaged in thoughtful and impactful debate on the resolution: “Reparatory Justice: A Youth Call for Decisive Action.” The participants all showcased excellent research, critical thinking, and public speaking skills. Kayla served as the Shadow Minister of Finance.

We are incredibly proud of her courage and commend her for representing NISS with excellence. The future of leadership in Nevis is bright! 🌟
