What a first week! Day 1 was ALL smiles as students flooded through the gates, ran to their teachers, and met new classmates.

We have a feeling 2026-2027 is going to be one for the record books.

♟️🇰🇳 SKN STUDENTS MAKE HISTORY ON THE INTERNATIONAL CHESS STAGE!

A proud and historic move for Chess-in-Schools in St. Kitts and Nevis!

St. Kitts International Academy represented the Federation at the American Continental Stage of the World Schools Team Championship 2026, held in San José, Costa Rica, from August 12–15.

Young chess players Ferran Waters and Zamari Diskin Edmeade, under the captaincy of Cara Diskin, competed among 29 school teams from across the Americas—placing St. Kitts and Nevis firmly on the international chessboard! 🌎👏🏾

This important exposure is expected to inspire more schools and students across the Federation to embrace chess as a powerful tool for developing concentration, discipline, confidence and strategic thinking.

Now, the call is going out to every school across St. Kitts and Nevis: join the Chess-in-Education movement!

The 2025-2026 school year came to a successful end! The last day of school was a blast! Students enjoyed class celebrations and the Student Council brought in water slides, enjoyed by the younger students to close out the year. It’s hard to believe another year has come to a close. 📚🎉 THEY'RE HERE! THEY'RE HERE! 🎉📚

The wait is over, and we are absolutely OVER THE MOON! Our newest shipment of library books has officially arrived, and the shelves are bursting with exciting adventures, mysteries, fantasy worlds, and fascinating facts just waiting to be discovered.

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible parents and school community for helping make these wonderful additions possible. Your generosity and support of all our Student Council fundraisers allow us to add so many books to our collection annually. This allows us to continue to inspire a love of reading in our students, and we couldn't be more grateful.

Students can look forward to diving into beloved series and exciting new reads, including The Babysitters Club (the first 30 books!), The City of Ember, Dune, The School of Good and Evil, The Secrets of the Immortal, Theodore Boone, One of Us Is Lying, My Weird School, Wingfeather Saga, Trapped in a Video Game, Escape from a Video Game, bilingual books, Smithsonian Encyclopedias, and so, SO much more!

The books are all settled into their new home and are eagerly waiting to meet their readers when school resumes. We can't wait to see students exploring new worlds, meeting unforgettable characters, and falling in love with reading all over again.

Thank you for helping us grow a library that inspires curiosity, imagination, and a lifelong love of learning. The next great adventure is waiting on our shelves! 📖✨

As we celebrate SKI Academy’s 25th Anniversary this September, we’re thrilled to recognize the outstanding students who earned our brand-new ‘Inspiring Greatness Scholarship’ awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each class for academic excellence, character, leadership, and involvement.

A huge congratulations to our small but mighty High School Class of 2026! 🎓

Our lone graduate, Nya, has completed her 11-year journey at SKI. What started with a large class dwindled over the years, but that never slowed Nya down. She stayed connected to our school, serving in student council leadership roles, and worked with diligence to earn her diploma.

We’re so proud of all she’s accomplished and know she’ll continue to make us proud as she heads to the University of Plymouth in England to study Civil and Coastal Engineering.

Way to go, Nya! Your future is bright.

That’s a wrap for our after school Art Club this year! What a fantastic year of creativity and fun! Our students explored a variety of projects, including popsicle stick art, warli art on MDF boards, quilling, pistachio shell flowers, clay creations, and sunflower art made from disposable spoons.

Tuesday, we celebrated the end of a wonderful year with a fun pool day, making special memories together before the summer break. So proud of our young artists for their creativity, enthusiasm, and hard work. Wishing everyone a happy and safe summer!
