Mauri from Perth (Western Australia) to friends in Kiribati! As some may remember, I spent 2019 at KGV-EBS - good times! I'm preparing various online resources for our students at the University of Notre Dame Australia, which I'll share with you here. This one is a vocabulary resource about "Literature, Drama, and Film Studies". Hope you enjoy it and find it useful - feel free to pass on the link to other teachers and students.

Mauri from Perth! It's 40 c here today, which reminds me of some of those hot and sunny days in Bikenibeu! Is the ice-cream place still going near the school? Anyway, here at the University of Notre Dame, I've been preparing some English language resources, which I thought might be of some interest to students planning to go onto university or professional training. For instance, if you click on 'boost your vocabulary' and then on 'topic vocabulary' you can see word lists for different topics, together with definitions, examples and exercises. So far, there's "Nursing & Midwifery", "English, Drama & Film Studies" & "Catholicism" (most of that is equally applicable to Christianity in general). We are building the resources up gradually. I will let you know when our next ones for Maths and Science are available. There are also videos and other exercises on grammar, vocabulary, and Australian English. Enjoy! https://library.nd.edu.au/english/vocabulary

Mauri from Australia. Just letting you know that I've been producing some new English language resources together with colleagues here at the University of Notre Dame, Australia. They include resources on everyday English, advanced grammar and vocabulary about different topics, such as literature and Catholicism. Anyway, feel free to access them - we will be adding more content in the months ahead. Martin McMorrow (KGV-EBS 2019-2020).

The deadline for NZ (Manaaki) Tertiary Scholarships already passed for this year, but there are other international scholarships available. NZ is offering scholarships for online training courses in areas such as Good Governance, Climate Change and Economic Resilience. I guess that for KGV-EBS graduates, courses in IT, Tourism and Fisheries could be interesting. Anyway, the deadline for those is May 2nd. You can get more info by emailing [email protected]
or or phoning 740 21 400. Meanwhile, the 'Australia Awards' for university study in Australian or Pacific universities are open until Friday 29th April. For those, you can email [email protected] or phone 74021184 for more info. There is a file with info about Australian universities in the Staff Room at KGV-EBS.
