One of the most meaningful experiences in my professional journey has been contributing to the Integrated Cambodia Prison Strengthening Project (I-CaPs), funded by Caritas Australia, which supports health, well-being, and reintegration opportunities for detainees in Cambodia.
This photo was taken during the mass hepatitis B and C screening campaign in Kampot and Takeo Prisons. It reflects the strong collaboration between government institutions, health professionals, prison authorities, and development partners who share the same commitment: improving access to essential healthcare services for detainees.
I am truly proud to be part of this important work. Through this project, we have supported hepatitis screening, referral, and treatment services, while also strengthening cooperation between the General Department of Prisons, the Ministry of Health, Provincial Health Departments, referral hospitals, and development partners.
For me, development work is not only about implementing activities or achieving targets. It is about giving people access to services, protecting dignity, strengthening systems, and building partnerships that can continue beyond the project.
Looking back at moments like this, I feel grateful and privileged to contribute to work that supports vulnerable populations and helps ensure that no one is left behind.
My sincere thanks go to all government partners, healthcare professionals, prison staff, donors, and colleagues whose dedication continues to make this work possible.
Together, we are turning partnership into meaningful impact.
