Angkor University (AU) is undergoing a major transformation, committing to become a semi-international university by 2024 and fully international by 2030! 🚀 This ambition is powered by the EU-funded BEST Project and highlighted at the 🇰🇭 Cambodia National Dialogue 2025. 🤝

Angkor University continues to expand its international collaborations by partnering with leading European institutions, including the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Belgium. This cooperation aims to enhance academic quality, human resource development, and global opportunities for Cambodian students.

📚 Cambodia-Asia Polytechnic Institute (CAPI) and Angkor University (AU) proudly participated in the EU-Cambodia University Dialogue held on November 12th, 2025, in Phnom Penh 🇰🇭.
The event was organized by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) 🇪🇺 and brought together over 300 participants, including representatives from 55 European universities and around 15 Cambodian universities.
🤝 The dialogue fostered academic collaboration, knowledge exchange, and discussions on higher education development. During the event, the management teams of CAPI and AU met with the European Union Ambassador to Cambodia, engaging in meaningful discussions on ongoing and future academic initiatives.
🌍 Both institutions shared insights on the BEST Project, highlighting its achievements and impact in enhancing internationalization, research, and teaching capacities within Cambodian universities.
✨ This event served as a valuable platform to strengthen EU–Cambodia academic partnerships and explore opportunities for collaborative research, student mobility, and capacity-building programs.

BEST Project — First Annual Meeting (24–25 Oct, Piraeus, Greece)
Thank you to the University of Piraeus (UNIPI) for hosting our first annual meeting. The event followed UNIPI’s hands-on training for our VN and KH partners on WG3 – Faculty Development & Research, WG4 – Student & Staff Mobility, and WG6 – Technology Integration.
We reviewed progress as WP2 nears completion and aligned timelines, roles, and next steps to kick-start activities under WP3 and WP4.

🎉 BEST Project Training in Brussels Successfully Concluded! 🇪🇺🇰🇭🇻🇳
From June 16–18, the BEST project was proud to host an impactful training event in Brussels for Cambodian and Vietnamese academic and administrative staff. This intensive capacity-building initiative, part of our ongoing Work Package 2, focused on one of our core pillars: enhancing university-private sector cooperation.The workshops and interactive sessions were designed to strengthen global partnerships and promote internationalisation strategies, with a special emphasis on building bridges between academia and industry.
🌐 Highlights included:
- Practical workshops on developing international partnerships and alumni networks.
- Immersive networking at the European Parliament and the Leonardo 4 Children Academy final conference.
- Insightful visits to the diplomatic representations of Cambodia and Vietnam in Brussels—deepening ties and fostering mutual understanding.
- Valuable peer exchange with EU experts and project partners.
