“Increase awareness raising, behaviour change, and educational campaign on the plastic” are the key words being discussed during sharing sessions among university students in Siem Reap. In collaboration with American Corner Cambodia - USEA, Siem Reap Angkor and to celebrate Earth Day 2024.

We are excited to cheer and congratulate Samrith Sreymoch, who has been selected as the “Principal” candidate to participate in the Spring 2024 YSEALI Academic Fellowship.

Sreymoch was a senior student at the University of South-East Asia, majoring in teaching English as a Foreign Language. She joined a Public Speaking Club and Debate Club, as well as a Book Club Leader and Teaching English to Beginner learners. She was desperately committed to gaining knowledge through the unity of universals, adventure, traveling, and learning things she had never learned before. This opportunity will allow her to build up her leadership and professionalism as a young leader and enrich her academics, including cultural relations experiences from the younger leaders from other Southeast Asian countries.

Each member was asked to speak for 10 minutes on an assigned topic. Topics included public health, government accountability, gender equality, environmental protection, etc.

On March 24, 2024, The American Corner Cambodia - USEA, Siem Reap Angkor hosted the event on Teacher Training on Teaching Phonics and Kindergarten to English Teachers in Siem Reap Province.

Teaching phonics in kindergarten means to familiarize yourself with the curriculum and build your own phonics knowledge. Create a phonics-rich environment with visual displays and resources. Start with basic letter sounds and progress to more complex patterns. Use systematic and explicit instruction, providing plenty of practice opportunities through interactive activities. Incorporate phonics into reading and writing activities, utilizing technology and assessing progress. Offer feedback and reinforcement to support students' phonics skills and boost their confidence.

What is the English Club in American Corner Cambodia - USEA, Siem Reap Angkor? It is a great way to help learners gain confidence and feel more comfortable using English around people they trust and have fun with. The English Club is open to anyone with unique interests and talents in all things literature.

As you communicate with other players in English, you can improve your skills with the language. Divers activities games will give you an opportunity to communicate with your friends in English. This can be a phrase, a word, or anything. Whatever you learn from these games is an added benefit.

The terminology used in tourism, business, education, law, and humanities, information technology and so on.
