numbers are constantly rising. Chhan School was opened on the 5th December 2011 by Song, a Buddhist monk. Song grew up in the area and has decided to dedicate his life to providing free education for the local children. In the past three years through his own savings and generous donations, Song has managed to open a temporary and modest bamboo hut school with three classrooms. The school is built on land that Song rents from a local family. To ensure the longevity of the school, Song needs to purchase the land so that a permanent school can be built. The land has been offered for $10 per square meter, or $15,000. Once this objective has been fulfilled the next step is to build an orphanage attached to the school. This will not only give the orphaned students a place to live but also it will help them to thrive, living in a safe and educational environment.
