Special "Rainy season holiday" learning program at Adapted Educational Learning Center – Week 11, September 28th to October 2nd, 2026 - Road safety - Traffic rules and signs designed to protect all vehicles (cars and motorbikes) and pedestrians.
This week the children were taught other mandatory traffic rules and signs for vehicles aimed at protecting one another - as well as pedestrians - and preventing road accidents.
Through scenarios and acting - using toy cars, characters - the children were made aware of road dangers. Using large pictures and acting the children were made aware about the main causes and consequences of traffic accidents.
The main goal of this special learning program is to understand risky behaviors and the good habits to adopt and follow, to pay attention to other people and vehicles around us. This fosters mutual respect and helps prevent and reduce the risk of accidents - especially on Cambodia's roads -.

Special "Rainy season holiday" learning program at Adapted Educational Learning Center – Week 10, September 21rst to September 25th, 2026 - Road safety - Traffic rules and signs designed to protect all vehicles (cars and motorbikes) and pedestrians.
This week, the children were taught the mandatory traffic rules for vehicles aimed at protecting one another - as well as pedestrians - and preventing road accidents.
Through games involving speed (adjusted and progressive), the children are made aware of road dangers, particularly those posed by vehicles (motorcycles too) traveling too fast or failing to obey traffic signs. Indicators used to signal a change of lane or route - as well as prohibitions such as "no right or left turn" or "no entry" - are equally important.
The goal is not simply to rote-learn signs and traffic laws, but to understand risky behaviors and the good habits to adopt and follow. This fosters mutual respect and helps prevent and reduce the risk of accidents - especially on Cambodia's roads -.
Several art projects were realized to represent these topics.

Special "Rainy season holiday" learning program at Adapted Educational Learning Center – Week 9, September 14th to September 18th, 2026 - Road safety - Traffic rules and signs designed to protect for pedestrians.
This week, the children learned about the importance of following the traffic rules and signs as pedestrians, while walking on sidewalks and at crosswalks.
Through fun activities and games using the red and green colors, the left and right sides, the children learn how to follow the instructions in order to avoid accidents on the road.
Several art projects were realized to represent these topics.

Special "Rainy season holiday" learning program at Adapted Educational Learning Center – Week 8, September 7th to September 11th, 2026 - Rules and safety measures at home - Fire safety and food choking.
This week, the children learned about the causes and consequences of accidental fires (at home, at school). Teachers prepared them to react and save their life first, through fire evacuation drill exercises (each school has 2 exits), the good reactions and gestures / techniques to apply in case of smoke, in case of fire on our clothes (note: no need to discuss about fire extinguishers, firefighters, water, sand, or adult intervention when the focus is on children).
The children also learned about food choking prevention - causes, risky foods, how to cut them, how to eat properly habits, consequences of food choking -.
All the children made art projects linked to these topics.

Special "Rainy season holiday" learning program at Adapted Educational Learning Center – Week 7, August 24th to August 28th, 2026 - Rules and safety measures at home assessments and recreational activities -.
This week, the children participated in assessments on household hazards: hot and sharp objects, fall hazards, and their consequences. Through oral and/or written responses, and/or with the help of pictures, they had to identify the hazards and their possible consequences.
After the assessments, the children enjoyed a well-deserved break with fun and recreational activities: dancing, games and team-building activities, arts and crafts, science experiments about rainbows, obstacle courses, cooking workshop (sandwich making).
The next step in the learning program will focus on home safety rules and measures: fire safety (evacuation only and, in case of fire, protecting oneself) and the risks of choking on food.

Special "Rainy season holiday" learning program at Adapted Educational Learning Center – Week 6, August 17th to August 21rst, 2026 - Rules and safety measures at home.
We would like to remind all parents that the greatest dangers and risks of accidents are found at home.
Parents of very young children and older children (including teenagers) must be very vigilant, inform their children, establish rules and safety measures, and use the necessary equipment to reduce the risk of serious injury and ensure optimal safety.
All activities carried out at school are supervised and made safe. Under no circumstances are the children allowed to reproduce them at home.
This week, children were forbidden from playing with light switches, touching electrical outlets, cords and/or cables, and electrical equipment (fans, lights, etc.) because an electrical fault can be fatal.
We know that at home children turn lights and fans on and off by themselves, regardless of their age. We know that many electrical cables and wires hang loose, including in the street, and that electrical safety standards are not being met.
The children imitate the consequences of an electric shock. The simple experiments carried out safely in the classroom involve static electricity, and the electrical circuits are fake — light bulbs painted yellow when there is current, black when there is no current.
All the children seem very interested and listen attentively!

Special "Rainy season holiday" learning program at Adapted Educational Learning Center – Week 5, August 10th to August 14th, 2026 - Rules and safety measures at home.
We would like to remind all parents that the greatest dangers and risks of accidents are found at home.
Parents of very young children and older children (including teenagers) must be very vigilant, inform their children, establish rules and safety measures, and use the necessary equipment to reduce the risk of serious injury and ensure optimal safety.
All activities carried out at school are supervised and made safe. Under no circumstances are the children allowed to reproduce them at home.
This week, the children were forbidden from climbing on the furniture, shelves, windows, or on the windowsill, due to the risk of falling and injuring themselves, or of having a heavy object fall on them and causing serious consequences.
Through gross and fine motor activities, hand-eye coordination, science experiments, artistic projects, the children understand and strengthen their knowledge of climbing and falling down, using the correct vocabulary regarding the consequences of a fall.
We also plan to offer basic road safety training.

We would like to remind all parents that the greatest dangers and risks of accidents are found at home, in the kitchen, bathroom, and garage (particularly dangerous areas).
Parents of very young children and older children (including teenagers) must be very vigilant, inform their children, establish rules and safety measures, and use the necessary equipment to reduce the risk of serious injury and ensure optimal safety.
This week, through real experiments, acting, games, science experiments, activities and art projects, the children learnt about the consequences of sliding, slipping, falling down on a wet floor - in bathrooms and other rooms of the house, as well as other outdoor areas –.
Through sliding games and science experiments they learnt and understood the concepts of gravity, air resistance, and friction.
The children also simulated, together with the teachers, the consequences of accidental falls.
This special learning program will be followed by other educational activities about electricity dangers.
We also plan to offer basic road safety training.

Special "Rainy season holiday" learning program at Adapted Educational Learning Center – Week 3, July 20-24th, 2026 - Rules and safety measures at home.
We would like to remind all parents that the greatest dangers and risks of accidents are found at home, in the kitchen, bathroom, and garage (particularly dangerous areas).
Parents of very young children and older children (including teenagers) must be very vigilant, inform their children, establish rules and safety measures, and use the necessary equipment to reduce the risk of serious injury and ensure optimal safety.
This week, we continued our activities related to toxic and hazardous household products and medications, as well as personal care and beauty products commonly found in the bathroom. The children were instructed not to touch, take, drink, or eat any product or medication without the permission of a doctor and/or their parents or a qualified adult.
The children also simulated, together with the teachers, the consequences of the accidental ingestion of toxic and dangerous products or medications. They observed scientific experiments illustrating potential dangers.
This special learning program will be followed by other educational activities in the bathroom—and other areas of the house—due to the wet floor.
We also plan to offer basic road safety training.

Special "Rainy Season Holiday" Learning Program at the Adapted Learning Center – 2nd week, July 13-17th, 2026 – Focusing on home safety rules and measures.
We would like to remind all parents that the greatest dangers and risks of accidents are found at home, in the kitchen, bathroom, and garage (particularly dangerous areas).
Parents of very young children and older children (including teenagers) must be very vigilant, inform their children, establish rules and measures, and use the necessary equipment to reduce serious injuries and ensure optimal safety.
This week, we continued in the kitchen with the identification and use of dangerous objects such as knives, broken glass, broken dishware. The children observed and learnt about risky behaviors. The children attended short puppet shows (role-playing scenarios) and science experiments illustrating potential hazards.
We also organized pre-cutting workshops and exercises using smooth knives and scissors, as well as crafts and art projects simulating debris, using non-hazardous materials.
This special learning program will be followed by other learning activities in the bathroom (toxic products and medications, risks of falls and drowning), hazardous products in general, falls (wet floors), electricity (outlets, cables), and other situations.
We also plan to provide basic road safety training.
