This week, a dedicated group of friends are cycling the length of Ireland to raise funds in support of SeeBeyondBorders and childrenβs education in Cambodia.π°ππ΄ββοΈπ«π
Paul, Donal, Declan, Maeve and Liam (joined by John and Alan along the way) are cycling from the most southerly point of Ireland to the most northerly - over 600km - all as part of The Mizen to Malin Cycle for Cambodian Education!
Along the route, Cambodian Irish Aid Fellows studying in Ireland had the opportunity to meet and cheer on the group - a wonderful moment of connection and shared commitment to education and brighter futures.π€
Weβre incredibly grateful for the dedication, energy and support behind this inspiring initiative. Every kilometre cycled and euro raised will make a difference for children in Cambodia.

Building a More Inclusive Future in Education π°π
At SBB Cambodia, we believe that education must be inclusive for every student to thrive. Inclusion is not a destination, but a continuous journey of learning and action.
Our team at the Siem Reap Office recently held a dedicated session on disability inclusion. We reflected on our current practices and discussed how to better support people with disabilities within the Cambodian education system.
Through our Transform Education program, we remain committed to ensuring that no student is left behind.

Sincere thanks to Mag Coogan and the ABC Club in Dunboyne, County Meath, for recording a song in support of our work in Cambodia. This follows a visit from our Cambodian team to the ABC Club last year.
Rith Sarakk, our Program Design Lead, shared:
βVisiting ABC Play School in Dunboyne was profoundly eye-opening and deepened my understanding of child-centered, play-based development approaches. Learning that ABC Clubβs βMorning Crewβ is taking action to support Cambodian education is truly impactful and inspiring.β

Learning by demonstrating! Learning by observing! Learning from each other!
Engaging conversations took place during a recent demonstration workshop in Kralanh and Srei Snam. All teachers had a chance to demonstrate maths teaching best practices while learning from others to refine their lesson plans. This approach is found to be very useful for teachers because they can collaborate and help build strategies together on engage with all students, leaving no one behind.

Why do we need to learn and understand first aid?
Accidents can happen at any time without warning. Therefore, possessing first aid skills is a vital necessity in emergency situations to save the lives of those around us. To strengthen the capacity and boost the confidence of all staff members in responding to unforeseen incidents, SBB Cambodia collaborated with Angkor Hospital for Children in Siem Reap to organise a training session on "Emergency First Aid." This full-day course included both theoretical lessons and hands-on practical exercises on essential life-saving techniques.
