🎨 New Year, New Classroom Decoration!

Over the past two days, our teachers, volunteers, and students worked together to draw and paint beautiful artwork on the classroom walls. It has been a wonderful team effort, turning the classroom into a more colorful and inspiring place for learning.

This is our first decorated classroom, and we are excited to continue the same project in another classroom next Friday. Step by step, we hope to make the learning environment brighter and more creative for our students.

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing volunteers and students for their enthusiasm and hard work. And a very special thanks to our dedicated teachers who planned and guided this activity and made it all happen.

Together, we create not only art on the walls, but also joyful memories in the classroom. 🌿

The 16th “Giant Puppet Parade” Captivates Tens of Thousands in the Heart of Siem Reap

The Khmer for Khmer Organisation (KKO), together with 43 students, teachers, staff members, and international volunteers, participated in the 16th Giant Puppet Parade on the evening of 21 February 2026, joined by a large crowd of more than 10,000 national and international spectators celebrating the event.

This vibrant parade began at Wat Damnak Roundabout and proceeded to the exercise park near the Royal Residence, where the carefully crafted giant puppets will be displayed for three days, giving the public an opportunity to view them and take commemorative photos.

This year’s theme is “Forest Parade,” highlighting eight rare and endangered animal symbols: the white dove, a symbol of peace; deer; rhinoceros; Asian elephant; yellow-cheeked gibbon; great hornbill (created by KKO students); the striped gecko, a rare species found only in the Cardamom Mountains; and fireflies. These puppets were created by more than 600 youth and children from various schools and organisations, including KKO.

🎭🦜 Giant Puppet Project 2026 🦜🎭

We are so proud that 40 students, together with our teachers and volunteers, joined the 3-day Giant Puppet Project 2026 workshop and helped build a giant hornbill at Wat Damnak. What an amazing experience of creativity, teamwork, and learning!

KKO is truly honored to be invited again this year, together with 20 organizations and schools and around 650 students in total. It’s wonderful to be part of such a meaningful and inspiring project.

We are really looking forward to the Giant Puppet Parade Night on 21 February 2026 in Siem Reap city, where we will walk together in the parade with the great hornbill we created, along with many other giant puppets made by different organizations.

This beautiful event promotes peace, culture, hygiene, environment, education for children, and wildlife conservation — and we’re proud to be part of it! 💚✨
