Subject + am / is / are + past participle (V3)
Changing active voice into passive voice
Using passive voice in daily life sentences
Examples
Rice is eaten every day.
English is spoken in many countries.
The classroom is cleaned every morning.
Letters are delivered by the postman.
Cakes are baked in the bakery.
2. Objectives
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
Identify simple present passive sentences.
Understand the structure of passive voice.
Convert active sentences into passive sentences.
Create simple passive voice sentences correctly.
3. Learning – Teaching Process
M – Motivation (10 minutes)
Teacher shows pictures of:
A classroom being cleaned
Bread being baked
Letters being delivered
Teacher asks:
Who cleans the classroom?
What happens to the bread?
How are letters delivered?
Teacher introduces: “Sometimes we talk more about the action than the person doing it. That is called passive voice.”

Active Voice /Passive Voice
They clean the room.
The room is cleaned.
People grow tea in Sri Lanka.
Tea is grown in Sri Lanka.
She writes letters.

Activity 1 – Underline the Passive Verb
Students underline the passive verbs.
Milk is sold here.
The floor is washed daily.
Books are kept on the shelf.
Activity 2 – Change into Passive Voice
They make toys.
She cleans the windows.
People grow rice.

Pair Work
Students describe classroom activities using passive voice.
