After building momentum online, we have officially moved into the physical world with our Nature-based Solutions for Coastal Resilience project, an initiative under The Verdant Botany’s "Coastal Biodiversity Alliance" program! On May 2, 2026, we joined the fishing community on Koh Sdach Island, Koh Kong Province, to turn digital concepts into community-led reality.

We spent the day raising awareness with locals about the fundamentals of Nature-based Solutions (NbS), a strategic way to protect our coastlines by protecting, restoring, and managing natural ecosystems. By contributing to these ecosystems, we are helping safeguard the livelihoods of those who depend most on our oceans.

This initiative, led by Chansovichea Duch (Director of Sustainable Urban Development and Design at SD11 and Co-founder of The Verdant Botany), is a proud part of the EarthDay.org 2026 global movement in partnership with FXB Global's FXB Climate Advocate.

We recently kicked off at Hun Sen Kampong Kes on 25 April 2026 in Kampot, Cambodia. From deep dives into the importance of Mangrove ecosystems to creative workshops where students draw their "Dream Communities," we are turning complex science into hands-on inspiration! 🎨🌳

This project was initiated by Haingveang Taing, our Co-founder of The Verdant Botany and Director of Strategic Engagement & Regional Development, with the support of our executive team.
